  5. Phobe (1994) - Canadian No Budget Sci-Fi Cult Film

It's time to hop in the Rowsdower-Mobile and burn rubber back to The Great White North!

In 1994, aspiring Ontario filmmaker Erika Benedikty wrote, produced, directed and edited a wildly ambitious, feature-length sci-fi action thriller for only $250. Phobe became a local sensation.

It doesn't get any better than this!

  7. Future Shock (1994)

Vivian Schilling (a.k.a., "Natalie McMillan") of SoulTaker (1990) fame (MST3K #1001) stars, and also has a writing and production credit in this, uh, "interesting" (cable? direct to video? made for tv movie?) "film".

Maybe not QUITE as memorable as the ICONIC Mystery Science Theater SoulTaker episode, but PERFECT for Rifftrax !!!

Currently there's a full version available on YouTube, here:

    Enjoy !!!

  8. Escapes (1986)

A strange mailman delivers a videotape titled "Escapes" to young Matthew Wilson. Matt gets curious and decides to give it a watch. The movie turns out to be a horror anthology with legendary horror actor Vincent Price as the host, who introduces every of the six segments. The first segment titled "A Little Fishy" follows a fisherman, who ends up being the bait. "Coffee Break" follows a delivery man, who gets lost and ends up in the one town you can't get lost in... or leave. "Who's There" follows a man, who finds a baby Sasquatch in the forest, withe…

  9. Jupiter Moon

    JUPITER MOON

What if you made a sci fi soap opera, spanning 150 episodes, and nothing EVER happens? What if you made a series on such a low budget that when you introduce a "space bar," the only songs you could sing are public domain (like "O Danny Boy")? What if the series was so strapped for cash, introduced merely to fill a time slot, and devoid of any real production standards that the sets were comprised of lighting grids painted white? What if your only space effects were stock NASA footage and a model shot? If you had all…

  11. Supergator

This is one of the first movies that got me going on really bad B-Movies. It is hilariously stupid by itself but could really become a classic if riffed.

  13. Laserhawk (1997)

An John A. Curtis-produced Alliance sci-fi-action kids flick in severe need of blowing out of the stars by main riffing batteries. Priority reasons are as follows:

    1. The story (about three good guy ETs reborn as Earthmen being the last hope against the bad guy ETs blah blah blah) is as dumb as an asteroid belt.
    2. Playstation level special FX alone do not a good story make.
    3. Mark Hamill of Star Wars and Wing Commander fame, reduced to a 20 minute bit part.
    4. The big finale rips off ID4 BIG time.
    5. It has theater that double-bills Curtis' other works, Cyberjack and…

  15. Archie: To Riverdale and Back Again

The 1990 Archie: To Riverdale and Back Again, released on VHS as Archie: Return to Riverdale, was a not-great Archie (of Archie Comics) reunion with Betty, Veronica, Jughead, etc. I'm not sure if Archie Comics would allow you to riff this, but if you can get Super Mario Brothers, you might get this one? Anyway, I'd sure love you to try.

  16. Rage to Kill

Writer/director of Space Mutiny, two actors from Space Mutiny (Cameron Mitchell and James Ryan). Also Oliver Reed. I haven't seen it but the poster even looks insane

Bonus: 6.9 rating on IMDB, which for a movie like this I HAVE to assume prime riffing material

  18. Armed for Action

Gentleman, I never use my service to this country for my own personal gain, until today. So I ask you, RiffTrax, to please roast the hell out of this movie. This is the only request this humble disabled veteran will ever ask of you.

Armed for Action is an Action movie made by A.I.P studios staring none other than Joe Estevez. Do I really need to say more.

  19. TERROR AT LONDON BRIDGE

Jack the Ripper is resurrected in contemporary Arizona, and goes on a killing spree in the British-style tourist trap. Top/low-level performances by David Hasselhoff, Stephanie Kramer, Adrienne Barbeau and Randolph Mantooth, make this 1985 flick so "riffable" it isn't funny. Or, actually, it is.

  20. The Wacky World of Mother Goose

Three years after Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the Rankin & Bass animation company phoned in this 2D tale of a coup in the land of nursery rhymes. If you've ever considered taking on an animated feature, this might just fit the bill. It has a plot on par with a Pirates World productions, and the animation is only slightly more articulate than the average Clutch Cargo episode. Old King Cole smiles stupidly as his daughter is kidnapped, and our hero Mother Goose continues to sit on her ass on the moon for quite some time after she begins to suspect…
