YES! Gunan is a perfect film for riffing. I'm not sure how it was missed in the first run of the show. After Zukan is killed, attacked from behind and beheaded, his brother jogs up and sees the carnage: Zukan's head on a pike and the talisman he wore gone, vows to get even with the warlord. Shortly afterward, we have the warlord's henchmen milling about the murder site with this dialog:
Henchman 1: "I want to have a look."
Henchman 2: "Forget it, this one's dead for sure."
Henchman 1: "You never can be sure with these pigs. Besides, I need to move a little bit."
Henchman 2: "Alright... I'll stay here."I mean, after murdering a group of people, who doesn't need to move around? The worst. The pacing is terrible. Frames just start up out of nowhere with no context and all of a sudden blood is spurting all over the screen. It's an Italian Roger Corman meets Sam Peckinpah with a script written by Australian voiceover actors.

Italian Ator! According to the title our hero is Gunan, but everybody calls him "Kuzan" instead. His entire village is massacred and he and another male baby, whose existence isn't explained, are found by Amazon warriors who may or may not be immortal, but definitely have terrific 80's hair. There is a vague prophecy so a few screen minutes later when both are fully grown men they must face each other in battle! The winner, the one with the most powerfully bad wig, must go kill a big ugly warlord. The loser, who feels correctly that his wig is just as bad, tries to do the prophecy thing also, but then gets dead. Kuzan is shot through the chest with an arrow by the ugly warlord's followers. A few seconds later, when he is in recovery (with no apparent scar) he meets Lenya, a valley girl with white-blonde hair and black eyeliner. After he assaults her (#metoo), they decide they are in love, but Zukan's Amazon mom is angry/jealous/in love with Zukan(?) and really makes things difficult for this adorable couple. I don't want to spoil the ending, but there are magic shields, slow motion battles, and somebody dies (or has incredibly bad constipation). Then everybody forgives each other and goes home. Yay, happy ending!
