Pufnstuf Zaps the World
Movie based off of "H. R. Pufnstuf" the psychedelically strange kids show from the late 60s / early 70s by Sid and Marty Kroff. It is a mix of live action, puppetry and imagery that could only have been dreamed up during a drug induced haze.

Martian Chronicles (1978 miniseries)
This was a well-intentioned but really botched tribute to Ray Bradbury. A confusing mix of inaccurate science and new age babble, it does at least have the intent to reach higher into our imaginations. The fact of this tragedy would make this a good riff.

This Island Earth
We all heard the stories of how the studio "noted" you guys to death and made the jokes less frequent to allow for laughs and the movie was cut too. You went after Manos again with fresh eyes a full on re-riff of This Island Earth would be great!
