1. William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juilet (1996)

This 1996 movie directed by Baz Lhurmann features late 16th century dialogue in a 20th century world. Many of you have been forced to watch this movie in high school English class. Some liked it, others hated it. If you hated it, you might be the best person to riff this movie.

Leonardo DiCaprio plays Romeo, and Claire Danes plays Juilet, in case anybody needs to know.

  2. Iron Sky

It was an interesting concept... but the execution was a laughable abomination. Please give this cinematic nightmare the skewering it deserves!

  6. ABC Afterschool Special: "The Day My Kid Went Punk"

Starring Bernie Kopell as the rattled father, and Jay Underwood as the decidedly NOT-punk "punk," a schlockfest of 80's cliches follows the adventures of a conflicted teenager who must choose between high school orchestra, and the New Romantic look.

  7. High Moon

Failed scifi pilot turned into a TV movie has everything riffable: a plot that makes no sense and doesn't resolve, dialog that walks the line between snappy and ridiculous, nightmare monsters, gay Russian spy robots, Indian ninjas that explode into jelly...You know, standard scifi stuff. Oh and this all happens on the moon.

  8. The Christmas Martian

"The Christmas Martian" is a 1971 French Canadian kid's movie that aired on CBC every Christmas in the 70s and 80s. It's delightfully creepy by today's standards, and dubbed into English, which is always a plus. It has no official DVD release, but you can find it on Youtube. It only clocks in at an hour, which would make it perfect to combine with some Christmas shorts for a live performance, or VOD release.

  16. The Beast Must Die (1974)

Presented for your consideration, The Beast Must Die, the only movie in cinematic history to come with its very own "Werewolf Break." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klfE_nescX0

Essentially, this film is an attempt to merge a werewolf movie with an Agatha Christie whodunnit, The Most Dangerous Game, and Shaft. If that sounds like a train-wreck waiting to happen... you'd be right. The so-called "plot" involves a wealthy big game hunter who really likes running around in leather without a shirt, deciding he wants to kill a werewolf, so he does the obvious thing, and invites six people he suspects might be werewolves to his…

  20. The Town That Dreaded Sundown

You can't watch this movie and not feel like it's missing a riff track. It's as if it were made by insightful people in the 70s to provide the perfect target for Riff Trax.

Description: Hilariously bad 70s horror flick set in Texarkana, Texas.
