1. The Wizard of Oz (1925, silent)

   Well, there's a wizard in this, and there's a place called Oz. And there's someone named Dorothy who lives with her aunt and uncle in Kansas, and a scarecrow, tin man, and cowardly lion. And that is where any similarities to L. Frank Baum's classic children's book end.

   Larry Semon (okay, stop laughing), a popular movie comic of the day, rewrote the story as a vehicle for himself. In this version, Dorothy is not a Kansas farm girl whose only desire is to get home...she's the rightful princess of Oz who was smuggled away as a baby and left with a Kansas farm couple when the Ozian royal family was overthrown. So her goal here is to STAY in Oz once the tornado's gotten her there. You gotta admire a Wizard of Oz movie that can't even get the basic thrust of the story right. (Needless to say, Dorothy is aged up in this version so nearly every male figure that isn't Uncle Henry can drool over her, and so she can end up with a handsome prince at the end.)

   The only other thing this movie deserves props for is introducing the idea of "farmhands double as Oz residents" that the 1939 movie took and ran with. But in this version, the three farmhands somehow end up carried away to Oz in the tornado with Dorothy, and disguise themselves as the famous Oz characters once they're there.

   The Scarecrow farmhand is Larry Semon himself, the Tin Man farmhand is Oliver Hardy (yes, that Oliver Hardy), and the one who briefly disguises himself as the Cowardly Lion is...

   ...well, just in case you didn't already want to slap this movie, this farmhand is African-American, and is presented as lazy and cowardly.

   And is named "Snowball."

   And his actor is billed as "G. Howe Black."

   And is eating watermelon in his first scene.

   In short, this whole thing would be nothing but a Rifftrax field day from beginning to end.

2. Alice In Wonderland (1933)

   This black-and-white kiddie movie mashes together Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass (as, really, nearly all Alice film versions seem to do, most likely because the Tweedles are simply too cool to leave out). It features some pretty big actors of the day (W. C. Fields, Cary Grant)...and stuffs them into costumes that will haunt your dreams. (In their infinite wisdom, the makers of this cast Cary Grant, the single handsomest man ever to grace Hollywood, as the Mock Turtle, in a costume that COMPLETELY COVERS HIS FACE.) This was such a flop that it put future live-action fantasy in doubt. Yes, friends, if saner heads at MGM hadn't prevailed, this film might have retroactively torpedoed The Wizard of Oz.

4. Dr. Who And The Daleks/Daleks Invasion Earth 2150

   I know you guys have done DVD riffs of the two non-canonical Peter Cushing Dr. Who movies. However, with Doctor Who so popular now, why not do these as live Rifftrax...and get one of the actual Doctors in as a guest riffer? (In character. Can't you just see Peter Capaldi in character as the doctor, flying into a rage because "THAT IS NOT ME!!!"

5. March of the Wooden Soldiers/Babes in Toyland

   Laurel and Hardy put their distinctive stamp on the classic children's operetta, along with a monkey in a Mickey Mouse outfit and nursery-rhyme character costumes that would make Sid and Marty Krofft blush.

9. Earth Girls Are Easy

   Three aliens crash their ship while watching porn. They land in a pool of a woman who is unable to think well. She thought having a makeover would make the doctor she's with love her more. Instead she comes home and he's in the middle of being "Dr. Love." Is "Love" really creative, really? They need the pool drained to fix the ship. She goes swimming while it's being drained, and the excuse is because "the water feels kind of murky." After that it is a series of awkward scenes. We learn that the aliens can manipulate the mind and drive "Dr. Love" crazy. At the end they try to get the woman and "Dr. Love" together, but he falls in love with a cat. She goes off into space.

10. Sophia Grace and Rosie's Royal Adventure

    My best friend and I were watching the preview of this movie and my friend says "I think this is the perfect video for Pearl to show Mike and take over the world." I laughed so hard, I cried. I would love to see this riffed!

    Like Godzilla (1997) everyone expiated great things from this movie. But then they saw it and immediately regret it. This would by a great movie to riff live.

12. Teen Witch

    i am surprised no one has suggested this movie oh my gosh it's about exactly what it sounds like but it's the 80s and all young nerdy louise can think to use her power for is increasing her 80sness to attract a gentleman caller. TEEN WITCH also features the most glorious impromptu rap battle ever during which a known DORK is granted supernaturally sick flow by our eponymous teen witch and proceeds to SPANK WITH VERSE these brohams who walk around freestyling all day and everyone involved is whiter than a ghost's ass omg this movie thinks a hawaiian shirt and suspenders is hiphop, and i haven't seen it for years but i remember every scene with the gang of rapping ace venturas

14. TRON

    Please riff the original TRON. It's ripe for all kinds of nerd, computer and video game jokes. Plenty enough dialogue to voice over. Nice visuals to poke at. Plus, I want to hear you guys do 80s video game death tones like Pac-Man's Death (woo woo woo wah wah) when TRON characters die.

15. The Crow (1994)

    I've watched this movie almost every Halloween for the last 20 years, initially because I thought it was awesome (I was a pretty mopey kid). I could kind of gauge my maturity level by my reaction to it...throughout the 2000s it felt the movie was getting dumber and dumber, and now it feels unwatchably idiotic. Which means it's right up your alley! Please, Rifftrax, save my ill-advised holiday tradition.

16. The Substitute (1996)

    Ultra-cheesy 1996 movie starring Tom Berenger, Ernie Hudson (as Principal Rolaid), Marc Anthony (yes the 'I Need To Know' Marc Anthony). Really bad acting and SO many opportunities for riffing. Tom Berenger is an ex-SEAL or something who becomes substitute teacher at a rough inner-city Miami high school to avenge the beating of his teacher girlfriend. He encounters gang-banger students and a drug pushing Principal (Rolaids). Hilarity ensues.
