An error occurred while saving the comment Toyland Chairman commentedI don't think I could watch the original without MST3K or RiffTrax. But I am curious about this sequel. I remember hearing about it, but thought it was cancelled early into production.

An error occurred while saving the comment Toyland Chairman commentedRight from the beginning this movie is perfect fodder. The '50s slang dialogue is laughable.
It also features Corman regulars Beverly Garland and Dick Miller.
The film was remade twice, despite apparently being one of Corman's personal favorites. In 1988 with Traci Lords, and again in 1995 with Michael York.

An error occurred while saving the comment Toyland Chairman commentedIn some territories this film is also known as "THE HOBGOBLIN" and "TROLL 3," if you could believe that. I watched this some time ago. It's really just a series of events, and not much of a straight forward story.
And for anyone wondering, the new Ator is Eric Allan Kramer. He was in ROBIN HOOD: MEN IN TIGHTS (1993), and supposedly he got the role of Ator after the director saw him playing Marvel's Thor in THE INCREDIBLE HULK RETURNS (1988).

An error occurred while saving the comment Toyland Chairman commentedTo Anonymous,
James Cameron did in fact work on the film, but as it turns out only for about a week. The majority of the film was directed by producer Ovidio G. Assonitis. James' name was left on due to his contract that an American sounding name be included to make the film more appealing to an American audience.

An error occurred while saving the comment Toyland Chairman commentedI watched this recently. It's such a bizarre film, and I could barely follow it. And I watched the English dub. I would label it an E.T. knockoff, right down to all the STAR WARS toys around, only it's about a psychic kid. But it's also partially a horror film, like E.T. meets DEVIL DOLL. Such a weird combination. And no joke, Darth Vader has a cameo. Some nice effects, though. Directed by Roland Emmerich of all people.

An error occurred while saving the comment Toyland Chairman commentedApparently this was released in some territories as GRIZZLY 2. Not to be confused with the unfinished 1986 sequel featuring George Clooney and Charlie Sheen.

I'm finally revisiting all four of these. As much as I like them, the first GHOULIES would be great fodder for RiffTrax. And it's a fairly short film too, so hopefully they won't have to cut much.
