  1. Around the World Under the Sea

A 1966 underwater sci fi adventure film with Lloyd Bridges. He leads a submarine crew in it. It's not terrible, but it's not great. It make a good one to riff!

  2. The People Under the Stairs (1991)

Two adults and a 13 year old called Fool (Based from a Tarot card) break into a racist Landlord's house to discover a horrific secret. Riff material includes:

    • Wes Craven film
    • Mommy and Daddy are played by Wendy Robie and Everett McGill, who played married couple Ed and Nadine Hurley on Twin Peaks.
    • Ving Rhames has to deal with a man who owns a gimp suit. Twice.
    • The Hero in the film is called Fool. Sounds like a Blaxploitation name straight from the 1970s films.

  3. Something Wonderful Happens

Something Wonderful Happens ia a 1957 short by General Electric pushing their "Live Better Electrically" campaign. But the sub plot of the boy Eric and his attraction to Kathy, a woman his mother's age, is downright creepy. https://youtu.be/rSFy2LKzFHk

  4. Shipwrecked

A Disney family film from 1991. I loved this film as a kid. But now as an adult, not as much. The cinematography is still pretty good as is the music, but it be a good one to riff.

  5. Foxy Brown (1974)

Curious Riffers... Riff if you dare. This film here is on the Video Nasties List. Foxy Brown is a 1974 Blaxploitation film, one of the first to feature a strong female lead—specifically, Pam Grier, the original Action Girl.

    Riff material includes:

    • 70s is everywhere
    • An early fight scene shows a criminal pushing a carriage in front of a car, which fortunately turns before impact.
    • Foxy's got a black belt. In bar stools.
    • Foxy's bra doubles as a holster for a small handgun, though she carries it under the band at her side and not in her cleavage.

  6. The Fan (1996)

Okay I just put one film with this title, might as well as do this one! This is a 1996 thriller directed by Tony Scott where Wesley Snipes plays a baseball player and Robert DeNiro plays an obsessed fan!

  7. The Fan (1981)

Not the 90s film with Wesley Snipes of the same name! This is a poorly made horror from 1981 with legendary actors James Gardner and Lauren Bacall. (How did they get in this???) Bacall plays a stage actress who gets stalked.
James Gardner called this the worse film he was ever in.

  8. The Redemption: Kickboxer 5

After Sasha Mitchell decides not to return, the studio replaces him with Mark Dacascos (Oh hi Mark!) and finish the series on the fifth film... that is until JCVD decided to reboot the series with three new films: Kickboxer: Vengeance, Kickboxer: Retaliation, and Kickboxer: Armageddon (Releasing later this year?).

    Riff material includes:

    • Friend not mentioned in previous films becomes main character (Just like David, the third brother who was never mentioned in the first film, became the hero from the second to fourth entries)
    • James Ryan of Space Mutiny fame plays the head of the evil South Africa kickboxing syndicate

  9. Kickboxer 3: The Art of War

The adventures of Sasha Mitchell (David Sloane, brother of Kurt and Eric Sloane) continue in Brazil. Riff material includes:

    • Cliché charity going on from main characters (Major plot excuse for why David and Master Xian are there to begin with).
    • Brazilian stereotypes(?)
    • Richard Comar as the big bad

Trivia time: Like JCVD, Mitchell acted as a Diva. He mistreated the film crew and his co-stars during the whole time the film was in production. So if you're wondering why in the fourth film some actors from the second and third film don't come back (The actor for Master Xian is…

  11. The Watcher (2000)

Never seen this, but this is the film that Keanu Reeves was forced to do after his signature got forged!
In this film Keanu Reeves stalks James Spader.
The acting is apparantly pretty bad and it looks like a riffable film.

  13. Someone is Watching

I just watched the I'll Be Seeing You riff and it reminded me very much of a 2000 TV movie called Someone is Watching. It's got the leading lady investigating the murder of someone who looks just like her, it's got the creepy stalker (this time he's actually relevant to the plot), it's got the good-looking cop, it's Canadian and, heck, it's even got Margot Kidder! lol I'm starting to wonder how this movie ISN'T a Mary Higgins Clark...
Please riff this cheese-fest of a 'thriller'! I'd love it, especially if Mary Jo and Bridget could cover it!

  15. Hyper Sapien: People from Another Star

I found this film looking around, its Keenan Wynns last film.
It's a mid 80s sci fi family film about 2 girls from another planet who land in Wyoming.

This seems like perfect riff fodder!

  16. Cave of the Living Dead (1965)

A seriously riffable movie from the mid sixties! For instance, the opening scene of our hero is the bar ogling a woman's legs made me think "On tonight's episode of How I Met Your Mother...". Later, there's an old man that gets rebuffed by a young girl and after she leaves says to the camera, "And what am I left with? Just the wine", to which I thought "At least the wine won't give you the clap!".

Many, many riffable moments like these. Seriously, it's funny.

  17. Silent Predator

    https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0120130/?ref_=tt_mv_close

It’s 1000% perfect for you. Please read the few reviews on IMDB. They are accurate!

    1) The LEAD actress and main character is a former NYC cop who was fired for posing in playboy with her official uniform and that is the only criteria used to cast her. Oh, and it shows… She thankfully never acted again.

    2) Part of the casting took place on the Howard Stern show. And it shows…

    3) The acting, screenplay, direction, production values, cinematography, music(!) and all other aspects are genuinely funny. I worked on this movie and it was NOT supposed to…

  19. The Colossus of Rhodes

Here is another swords and sandals film from Italy!
Directed by Sergio Leone who later would direct spaghetti westerns.
This film looks like a good one to riff.

  20. Fire Monsters Against the Son of Hercules

Was looking around for films that might be great to riff and found this beauty. It's another entry in the Son of Hercules saga. That is really a Maciste (who you might recall from Colossus and the Headhunters, as well as Hercules against the Moon Men) film!

The film is also known as Colossus of the Stone Age.
