  2. Doctor Who: Dimensions in Time

This is bad. Really bad. It was supposed to be the 30th anniversary special but it’s almost as bad as the Star Wars Holiday Special. You won’t be able to actually release the video of it because my understanding is that all of the actors made it for free on the condition that it never be released commercially, but you could do a Just a Riff for people to listen to while watching it on YouTube.

  3. Just Around the Corner (1933)

A 13-minute advertisement for General Electric products. That in itself is not unusual, except for the fact that the actors in this one were some of the biggest stars at Warner Bros. (at least, at that time). Instead of just showing off their appliances, they've concocted a little story wherein **** Powell (as rosy-cheeked as ever) looks like he may lose a coveted office manager job to a rival who just sucked-up to the boss. So he does some sucking-up of his own, and invites him and his wife to his all-electric home to spend the weekend with his and…

  4. Drawing With Gorbit

This is some weird European short where a guy who kinda resembles Albert Einstein goes on a search for his magical pencil so that he can draw such fascinating things such as a two-headed tiger, a fish with human legs, and a penguin with a human butt.
Did I mention that he can fly and that he seeks help from a witch to help him find his pencil and as payment he will give her more children's souls to each (the witch tells him not to forget the dipping sauce...ESPECIALLY honey mustard dipping sauce)

The video is online at Youtube. …

  5. Million Dollar Nickel (1952)

From MGM, a great short about how a nickel pays for a stamp so an immigrant can send letters back home. Features little cameos from Ricardo Montalban and Leslie Caron speaking in their native tongues.

  6. Dinosaurs: The Terrible Lizards

I suggest Dinosaurs: The Terrible Lizards. It's an educational stop motion animated short first filmed in the seventies and then revised in the eighties, so there's two versions to choose from.. It was produced by Wah Chang whose work has already been featured in Jack the Giant Killer and Dinosaurus! The animation ranges from decent to bad and even the revised edition contains information that was known to be incorrect decades before the seventies.

  11. A Day in the Life of a Kitchen

A promotional short for Frigidaire appliances from 1965 that reminds you that it's "the space age" by beating you over the head with that fact as often as they can. The average American family (father, son, daughter, and concrete-hairdo-ed mother) have breakfast at their "space age" kitchen dinette (that guarantees no one in the family need look at anyone else in the family). Later, the son has some friends over to do a dance called the "walk in space" (with the girls wearing glitter-covered space helmets assuring flashbacks to "Moon Zero Two"). And speaking of dancing, check out Mom's dance…

  12. A Body to Die For: The Aaron Henry Story

A half hour episode from the 90's HBO 'Lifestories' series, enjoyed (and adored) by countless students in health class.

Sit back and relax as Ben Affleck takes you through the journey of star football player to roid-raging meat man.

  13. The Daylight Zone (1986)

Christian propaganda film filled with obvious anachronisms. Of course, painful dialogue ensues.

  14. Valentines Massacre (2006)

When Detective Valentine finds out his daughter Heather has been kidnapped, he may have bit off more than he can chew when the investigation leads him into the clutches of a crazy Chef. Made in Wisconsin and played at 2 horror film festivals. Similar to lyncon Colony and fungicide but only 25 minutes long.

  15. Why Study Home Economics? (1955)

Again from Young America, the companion piece to MST3K's "Why Study Industrial Arts?" Just as in that film, a high schooler consults with the home ec teacher, who seems to be convincing herself more than the audience of the need for her classes. You have to love the 50's sentiment of the high school girl who is convinced that she's going to be a "homemaker all her life," and that her first home may be (gasp) a TRAILER (!!!) And I love the unexplained southern accent that the girl's sister speaks with (and what is up with her…

  17. The Attitude Factor (1981)

A school bus safety film about the attitudes of bus drivers focuses most of its story on a driver named Barbara Blackstone. It begins with Barbara, a lady with a positive attitude, winning an award for "best all-around driver"; by the end, she is worn down by the mother of a special needs child who constantly complains she's late. Barbara's meltdown to misery is a spectacle to behold and great material for riffing. The short is on YouTube.

  18. Liebe 2002

It's a mockumentary from East Germany, the communistic part of it about how they imagined love to work in the year 2002.

It's incredibly cheesy tongue in cheek.

It has a weird futuristic visions with ballet dancers from the future, robots and computers contrasted by the 1970s and the olden days.

It's been produced by DEFA and a copy can be found on their Youtube channel:

  19. "Gung Ho" by Steve French

It's an Australian take on "Tom and Jerry", with certain twists on the formula.

    1. The mouse only goes out because his wife is bickering about cheese.
    2. It's slapstick with a disabled cat.
    3. The ending is fairly harmonious with both bonding over a bottle of "*** catnip".

The movie is distributed as part of the Kaboodle series by the Australian Children's Television Foundation. A copy of that segment can be found here:

  20. Captain America (15 part serial)

Let me set the Stage. It’s the mid 1940’s, WWII is raging, and there’s this publication group called Timely Comics. It’s still decades away before they adopt a more “Marvel-ous” name, but for now they have this new character they call Captain America who they think will make waves. Timely wants to make a serial for Cap, Republic has made tons of serials, what could go wrong?

Hilariously, Republic threw out literally everything about Captain America for the serial. Sure he mostly has his costume, but this is not Steve Rogers the super soldier fighting the Nazis with the help…
