Skyline Chili Training Video
A hilariously dated and cringey training video for a Cincinnati-based restaurant chain called Skyline. Two disembodied hip & young voices teach the would-be Skyline employee how to make Skyline’s signature spaghetti, chili, and cheese foodbomination that some genius decided to name the “3-Way” (yes really). There’s even a pop quiz near the end of the video. The YouTube url (graciously uploaded by Christopher G.) is https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6pgNjbugf6E&pp=ygUXc2t5bGluZSB0cmFpbmluZyB2aWRlbyA%3D

An Outbreak of Salmonella/An Outbreak of Staphylococcus (US Short Films, 1954)
Basically, these are films that were created by the United States Department of Health created in the 1950s created in a series of videos showcasing to people how diseases are caused and spread through incompetence. Honestly, the National Library of Medicine's YouTube account is a goldmine of historical videos showcasing somewhat archaic short films with advice that can now be regarded as dubious (particularly in the field of mental health).
The only issue, though, is that Staphylococcus... is the scientific name for staph infections, and that short film doesn't really have the unintentional humor of people running for the bathroom.…

Donkey Baseball
So, it's baseball. Played on donkeys. When I saw this video, I was in dumbfounded disbelief. Then I checked the internet and learned this was indeed a real thing. I'm still unsure if this was the pinnacle of American ingenuity or the stupidest thing ever, but it feels like there's a lot of potential here for some great riffs.

The Lottery 1969
Among all the odd shorts that left people dead, this one left a huge WTF moment. Based on the original short story of the same title, and before the 1996 film. This shows how cruel and horrible traditions can be.

One Live Ghost
It's a comedy film from 1936.
It's not a great short but it's great for riffing material.
The short features a young Lucille Ball playing as a maid.

Owls Lords of Darkness
1983 short about owls; no not a rock band. Pretty interesting information, but the narrator, is pretty dull. It sorta has that Boggy Creek 2 and Buffalo Rider vibe.
Starts out at the beach, because we all know that owls are known for their beach nesting right? LOTS of mice were harmed in the filming of this short.IMDB https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1319534/plotsummary/?ref_=tt_ov_pl

Yes the Mickey Mouse classic from 1928! It will be in public domain in several months. So what better way to honor it then riff it, back when we all loved Disney.

Cold Can Kill
A Royal Navy instructional film from 1972, my film collector friend picked this one from a dealer. He showed it at his home and now we all chant the film's title whenever someone falls in the water. Three reasons why it's riffable: The high frequency jumpscare of the title card warning COLD CAN KILL, the goofy Hanna Barbera-esque animation illustrating how alcohol will kill you if you have hypothermia, and the mention that the water "impregnates" your clothes.

This electrical safety video was made in 1990 by Edison Electric Institute. It's narrated by Volton, pure electrical energy, who takes you on a cool computer a animated journey through the power grid, and then shows you how to be safe around overhead and underground wires. Whenever someone gets shocked, you will hear Volton savagely snarl "GROUND!"

Kid Safe
This video was made in the 1980s and distributed by Triaminic and the American Academy Of Pediatrics. Its goal: to teach kids how to be safe when they're home alone. It was directed by Stuart Gordon, and the "little girl" named Kathy Tudor is played by Andrea Martin, who was 40 years old at the time. If you liked Martin Short playing a ten year-old in "Clifford" or Robin Williams playing a ten year-old in "Jack", this is the educational video for you.
