  2. Getting Off on the Right Foot (1972)

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4Rx57jVGfso
In case “Last Clear Chance” and “Days of Our Years” weren’t enough, here’s another western railroad short from the days before mounting and dismounting moving equipment was banned. There’s a very good reason that practice was banned: knees and ankles. Also, it shows LA in the early 1970s, particularly the extra-nice parts of town where the railroad yards were. And finally, if it gets the safety message out, it deserves to be shown.

  4. Captain Z-RO

Found this cheesy sci-fi serial which is apparently public domain, the announcer is apparently desperate to remind us of the lead character’s name. Clunky looking robot in this episode called imaginatively Roger (could have been Robert I suppose!) and Z-ro is able to conduct experiments in time and space.

It’s like a 50s Retro Doctor Who without the Tardis or the quality of the writing.

  7. Fabulous Adventures of the Baron Munchausen (1979)

No, not the Terry Gilliam film—the 1979 French Cartoon. I grew up watching and loving the English version and as I became an adult, I realized how horrid this fim is. I’m just going to put the highlights here:

The animation looks like the artist was suffering a grand mal seizure, but he said “Screw the hospital—I HAVE A DEADLINE!!”

The music in this film was composed by Michel Legrand (!!!), which I assume was like Andy Kaufman starring in a film about robots.

The animator of this film wanted to be the French Walt Disney. I’m not kidding. It…

  9. Gary Coleman For Safety's Sake (1986)

"Actor Gary Coleman appears in this instructional video designed to show children how to be safe and stay safe. Included are tips on accident prevention, how to stay safe when home alone, and other procedures that have been developed by the National Safety Council and the American Red Cross.
    - Written by frankfob2@yahoo.com"

Sounds as terrible as the above mention description implies.

  10. W*A*L*T*E*R

A spin-off of MAS*H so bad, it was canceled before the pilot episode could air, its unknown when it was filmed or originally going to premiere, all anyone knows is it got broadcast once in july of 1984 as a "CBS Special Presentation" & was presumed for a long time as a lost TV pilot until it was uploaded to you tube by someone who had it recorded on VHS , its unknown if CBS has a copy but can find it on the net now a days

  12. Are You Listening

A horrifying giant mouth teaches horrifying giant ears about the importance of listening to directions. There's also weird superfluous footage of animals in a zoo, because why not?

  14. Get Street Smart: A Kid's Guide To Stranger Dangers (1995)

I had to watch this in grade-school and everyone I knew absolutely hated it.

It's all about an ugly orange alien named Corny who is dumb as dirt. He eats live goldfish for breakfast and has a time-traveling belt. He keeps doing dumb things with strangers throughout the day and gets saved by his time-traveling but eventually he either forgets it or it breaks. Cue a crisis.

I've since learned that there were also other Corny videos but thankfully the universe wasn't cruel enough to show them to me.

  15. Introducing 🇮🇸Iceland [The Atlantic Community Series - NATO Documentaries, 1955]

Nato history channel as a list full of these for different countries, all utterly ripe for riffing. They all have that way-too-serious narration that 50's documentaries and shorts have that would make it absolutely perfect.
They are all free to watch on youtube as well!
Here's the one on Iceland: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLXVOXd7TU2-YixUWqUfWQw

  16. Barbie and the Rockers: Out of This World/Barbie and the Sensations

Okay. This is a more of a blatant push to get people to watch Alison Pregler's YouTube channel. But since it's a two part set of shorts where Barbie travels to outerspace to a flower shaped space station and then accidentally travels back to the 1950s? I think Mary Jo Pehl and Bridget Nelson would work wonders on a perfect rifftrax commentary track.

  20. Journey through stress

    1. This was shown every year in my highschool. I recently found it again and it would absolutely tickle me to see this riffed by the hilarious folks whom I have loved since an early age.

    2. There is a particular scene involving a chili dog where everyone in my high school audience would shout "THROW IT!".

    3. Just watch it! It is delightfully terrible.
