Military Police: Town Patrol (1955)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_-UbRxlxCk
The 28-minute short shows two MPs as they patrol Agusta, Georgia. And it looks like someone spliced scenes from an entertaining-enough police procedural to make a dull educational film.
The MPs instruct one soldier on bus routes and pay close attention to try and spot soldier's shoes. But in between all that they come across a soldier who was beaten up and mugged.
In fact, the line "You better call the station and get an ambulance" is spoken with much less severity and gravity than the following dressing down of a poorly dressed soldier. "Okay, now you look like…

Your Safety First
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8pvcGWtXXE
Described as "Jetsons before the Jetsons", "Your Safety First" is half future fantasy, half history of automotive safety features. Grandpa who speaks like an old-time prospector ties it all together at the end.

" Safety Sue . "
" Safety Sue " is a bizarre short film of a woman in a bikini ( Safety Sue herself !! ) who teaches three army guys about swimming safely . It was made in 1977 . It is also called " Thank You , Safety Sue !! " And was made by the US Department Of Defense . I have seen the short , and there is plenty of fodder for the RiffTrax Crew to turn into gold !!

Shelley and Pete
Just posted on Youtube by the US National Archives: "Shelley and Pete (...and Carol) from 1980. 23 minutes. Shelley and Pete are in High School and having sex. Then they get pregnant and their lives are ruined. (Their lives were already pretty terrible as it was the '70s, which I can tell you from personal experience sucked." Ultraman (1960's series)
The 1960's dubbed Japanese series with the Science Patrol (Hayata, Fuji, etc.) Each episode was like 30 minutes. The orange outfits with the matching ties are reason enough to riff on it.

The Fighting Lady, 1944
[Public Domain?] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pt58grDVsnI
The plot of the film revolves around the life of seamen on board an anonymous aircraft carrier. Because of war time restrictions, the name of the aircraft carrier was disguised as “the Fighting Lady”, although she was later identified as USS Yorktown (CV-10). (“Fighting Lady” was the known moniker of the Yorktown, just as “Lady Lex” for Lexington, “The Big E” for Enterprise, etc…) A few shots of aircraft landing were filmed aboard the Yorktown’s sister ship USS Ticonderoga.

Meat and Romance (1940)
What do you get when you combine "Three Magic Words", "With an All-Star Cast", "Cooking Terms and What They Mean", and "Carving Magic"? You get "Meat and Romance", the tender tale of yet another newlywed wife who never learned to cook (didn't any school offer home economics back then?). Fortunately for her, her sister- and father-in-law show up (unannounced), and sis is a "famous home economist" (which is pounded into our brains more times than humanly necessary), and she takes our heroine to the butcher shop for a long lecture on different cuts of meat, then back to the kitchen…

Running For Empties (1988)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utbT3IL3P2Y
This is a 9 minute short from New Zealand about two schoolboys and a man in short shorts who deliver glass bottles of milk.
It is wholesome, sincere, and grounded, yet it has several over the top moments. Like an animation of the van turning into a spaceship. Or a cat knocking a bottle off a wall.
It ends on a note that soon people will be able to buy milk from grocery stores, leaving the kids (and the viewer) as witnesses to the end of an era.
