  1. Any old 80s fast-food training video you can get the rights to

There's a lot of great cheesy 80s fast-food training videos out there, like for Wendy's and McDonald's. It's a riff goldmine.

  2. "A Touch of Magic" https://archive.org/details/TouchofM1961

"A Touch of Magic" is the MPO produced, GM financed sequel to "Design for Dreaming." Nuvena herself , Thelma "Tad" Tadlock stars in it once again, and it is just as bonkers. 1961.

  6. Shopping Can Be Fun (1957)

Bridget and Mary Jo have done riffs on menstruation, the suburbs, and Tupperware, so they would be perfect to riff this early tribute to the shopping mall.

It's also in the public domain.

And it can be found here:

  7. Tomes and Talismans

A serialized, Post-Apocalyptic library-venture brought to you by the Mississippi Public Broadcasting System! A group of kids learn about the Dewey Decimal System and Bookmobile from a librarian/freedom fighter, while trying to escape the invasion of Wipers from the Darkstar solar system. Has a very Overdrawn at the Memory bank feel.
The first episode is on youtube here: https://youtu.be/6DzzPDnIKtQ

  8. Private Snafu or A Few Quick Facts (1942-1946)

Series of animated shorts used to educate WWII soldiers on many touchy, difficult subjects. PVT Snafu being voiced by the legendary Mel Blanc.

One has to be wary to not pick the shorts with obvious racist depictions of the Japanese army/navy/etc.... One episode was written by Dr. Seus.

  10. Too Tough to Care (1964)

    From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TooToughto_Care

Too Tough to Care is an 18-minute educational film produced in 1964 to undermine teenage resistance to anti-smoking education.

Farley, an advertising copy writer for the fictional Finster Cigarette Company, is dismayed by the medical establishment's successful campaign to link smoking with lung cancer. It dawns on Farley that one effective way to counter this campaign would be to promote the concept of being "too tough to care" about the hazards of smoking. So he launches an advertising campaign, complete with a compelling jingle, showing men such as dynamite workers and gas workers lighting up Finster…

  11. Pink Lady (TV 1980)

Failed attempt at variety show in 1980 star a goofbucket named Jeff Altman and a Japanese twin set of sisters who apparently struggled speaking their English lines phonetically.

Series ran for six episodes but only five aired.

  12. Paddle To The Sea

28 minute short I had to watch in elementary school.
A boy carves a canoe out of wood and sends it on it's greatly improbable way to the ocean.
Along the way, the canoe meets people and has adventures.
    The canoe does.
    Yes.
    Really

  13. Gary Coleman For Safety's Sake (1986)

"Actor Gary Coleman appears in this instructional video designed to show children how to be safe and stay safe. Included are tips on accident prevention, how to stay safe when home alone, and other procedures that have been developed by the National Safety Council and the American Red Cross.
    - Written by frankfob2@yahoo.com"

Sounds as terrible as the above mention description implies.

  14. Caught in a Rip-Off (1974)

From the people who brought you "Cheating" and "Shake Hands with Danger" comes this 1974 scare film about shoplifting, entitled "Caught in a Rip-Off." Some unseen guy who sniffed one too many cans of spray paint (to paraphrase the words of one YouTube commenter) tells about how clerks in your local Hobby Lobby employ one sly tactic after another to discourage burglary. Accentuated with weird (but not atypical) 1970s Moog synthesizer musical stings, this makes for an interesting subject that is riff-worthy.

  15. Tea Making Tips (BBC, 1941)

You can give it a watch on the official BFI YouTube channel here:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnvYymrCn4g&t=16s

I just feel you guys tend to do fantastic jobs riffing on instructional videos in general, and one as genteel and specific as this could result in some absolute laugh out loud moments!

A spin-off of MAS*H so bad, it was canceled before the pilot episode could air, its unknown when it was filmed or originally going to premiere, all anyone knows is it got broadcast once in july of 1984 as a "CBS Special Presentation" & was presumed for a long time as a lost TV pilot until it was uploaded to you tube by someone who had it recorded on VHS , its unknown if CBS has a copy but can find it on the net now a days

  17. Ultraman (1960's series)

The 1960's dubbed Japanese series with the Science Patrol (Hayata, Fuji, etc.) Each episode was like 30 minutes. The orange outfits with the matching ties are reason enough to riff on it.

  18. Return of the Ewok (1982)

Weird ass behind the scenes mockumentary (?), where Warwick Davis alternates between himself and an ewok bouncing back and forth between our world and sets of Return of the Jedi.

  19. Holiday From Rules

TCM recently ran "One Got Fat" in the wee hours and I taped it because my kids love your version. After it, they ran a short called "Holiday From Rules" from the mid to late 50s (based on hair & clothing; I didn't notice a copyright date).

Four kids complain about living with rules and they're sent to an island of cardboard stand-up mountains complete with animated shark-infested waters. It descends into Lord of the Rings with fighting over games, shells, and food. One boy breaks his arm and, even though he broke it fetching a coconut, he doesn't get…

  20. Dating Do's And Don'ts

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxBOSdl-b54

The lead character's name is Woody. There are probably at least ten good jokes in that alone. One of those dating etiquette shorts that offers divergent time lines in how to choose, ask for, and end a date
