   This gem of a movie I found at the dollar tree. A diamond in the rough. An ape is broken out teaches a young boy with bone cancer he can be cured by stopping medication and using organic deodorant. Can’t make this shit up.

   Here are the basics of the story:

   The "government" doesn't want their special apes anymore. A science lab wants them for aggressive hammer and saw based toupee experiments?

   The science labs are run by a "Science Doctor" with a milky eye and facial scars from a "chimp related incident" (I will refer to him as Dr Milky for the remainder of this review) Dr Milky would like nothing more than to tranq a 400 pound chimp and road haul him through the woods behind a golf cart (this is a actual scene) In fact Dr Milky hates apes so much that the film opens with him preforming a shady ape for cash deal in "the jungle" which he insists on doing by himself despite also running a mega pharmaceutical company in "the city"?

   Moving along, Dr Milky does have an assistant and it would seem that her primary purpose at work is to "inspect" the apes to ensure that they are ready for "experiments". She has a son whom she enjoys blowing cigarette smoke on, jamming pills into along with any other "science" food....oops her son has cancer. After a visit to the Ruffalo knock off doctor we find out that little Timmy will die of science cancer if they don't start aggressive chemo?

   But hold on, the daughter of the Colonel that was in charge of the 143 (oddly specific, I know) government science apes (of which we see 3) managed to kidnap Simon, son of Enos the famous space chimp. Apparently the trip to space expanded the mind of Enos and his respective seed, hence why Simon understands how to cure cancer in 6 weeks by eating "honey" from a "beehive" with no aggressive bees stinging the holy hell out of you in the woods.

   But before Simon can run his raw truth cure on Timmy he needs to hook up with a wacky homeless guy and get a hand joe in a massage parlor? Also Timmy needs to make some weird advances at his sister which his Mom points out as being overtly adult in nature...you know, comedy... Also government chimps need to have full on subtitled conversations about how one of them is Bruce Lee? And the other is scared...you know, more comedy...

   Things progress, Simon cures Timmy of his terminal cancer with nuts, twigs, flowers and sunshine. Dr Milky realizes the error of his ways and in a strange whirlwind of dialogue manages to tranq a cop which somehow leads to the recitation of the pledge of allegiance?

   I know what you're thinking, "although that sounds like the most delightful story it doesn't sound like enough of a story to fill up the standard length of a film" Fear not, they filled up that space with a veritable cornucopia of stock footage, you know, fly over shots of "the city" or "the jungle" or shots of apes just chillin (never mind that these apes are real and look nothing like the ape costumes used though out this fine film).

   At any rate, if you would like to hate watch something made by a raw food hippie with his head jammed too far up his granola then this little gem is for you. When my head wasn't exploding with exasperated hate my sides were bursting with laughter at the horribleness of this "film".

4. scales: mermaids are real/ the 3 tails: a mermaid adventure/ a mermaid's tale

   it's a trio of craptastic live action kids and family movies about mermaids you will be making fun of real soon and here they are

   1. scales: mermaids are real. in the film A seemingly ordinary girl learns that she's destined to turn into a mermaid on her 12th birthday. She must say goodbye to her family and friends while evading the local hunters who wish to capture her.

   2. the 3 tails: a mermaid adventure. in the film Three mermaids, Emily, Selena and Jackie, struggle to understand the meaning of their special gift. When one of them is kidnapped by a stranger to harness her DNA, the mermaids discover they are not the only endangered species in the ocean.

   3. a mermaid's tale. in the film Twelve-year-old Ryan is despondent about moving to a dying seacoast village until she forms an unlikely friendship with a quirky teenage mermaid.

   i think that either one of those movies if not all should've worked for the olsen twins under the name mary-kate and ashley's mermaid adventure. and i don't even mean it would have been based on dora the explorer saves the mermaids which was about pollution. the olsen twins should have most likely been about china and hong kong and the weeki wachee mermaid springs. they should've at least shown hu jintao and tung chung wee who were the chinese presidents during the 2000s. they should've at least promoted the playstation 2 in china and the nintendo ique player. in fact they should have filmed in shanghai and hong kong and in guanzhou and suzou. and i bet the storylines could've involved the incredible forces of evil being fishermen and wet markets and attempting to sell mermaids as sushi or ok ok we all get the point now. even paris hilton and nicole richie went to the weeki wachee mermaid springs in season 2 of the simple life aka road trip. anyway that's why you should riff these movies like i said.

5. Honeymoon From Hell (2016)

   It's not so much from hell as South Carolina- Another Lifetime movie that would be perfect for Bridget and Mary Jo to take a look at- just not too closely, because the cracks are really obvious-
   A young couple on their HONEYMOON (frightened yet?) are staying at a down home B & B- but aside from our main love birds,our cast includes-
   Hazel (a bad southern accented Catherine Hicks -7th Heaven, numerous movies), a slow witted handy man, a scheming trampy blonde lady (who only has one bikini) and a bad southern accented normal handyman- but might there be other guests? Guests of the supernatural type staying at the B&B- making people almost wreck, watching Rivers (the husband) pee off a dock, knocking on bathroom doors, attacking people with pillows, or appearing in windows to "scare" people? Yes, yes there might be! It's just too much for mere mortals to handle because they're also preparing for a hurricane, contending with crazy in-laws, planning a for-the-insurance murder and dealing with an unplanned pregnancy as well- will the excitement ever cease? Just give it a chance- it doesn't disappoint- well not in the traditional sense. Best line -"No ghost is gonna attack me, I got a rosary tattoo on my back," Lovely 🙄

6. Lost TV Pilot: Starstruck (1979)

   From the Fangarian ChronoSpheric Vault: I submit to you a bizarre little plot called 'Starstruck.'

   Thanks to films like 'Star Wars' and 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture,' television was endlessly being assaulted with sci-fi specials and plots. And as the RiffTrax crew has shown from The Star Wars Holiday Special, just because you have a well-established franchise/genre as the basis, it doesn't mean entertainment gold.

   With the success of 'Buck Rogers in the 25th Century,' (whereas its second season was just a Star Trek knockoff) networks deluged the airwaves with constant sci-fi plots, regardless of whether it made sense or not.

   One such case was with CBS, not daunted by the flop known as 'The Star Wars Holiday Special,' they decided to concoct this little known disaster known as Starstruck.

   From the intro, you wonder what really makes it sci-fi because they propel all the way back to the days of the pilgrims, up to modern day to explain the show itself.

   Basically a family decides they've had enough of the modern world and decide after attempting to live on the Moon, they will live in space, running sort of a Space Stop for traveling ships. (Makes you wonder if they ever came across the Satellite of Love, eh?)

   Anyway it was sort of a failed sitcom because of the fact it attempts to cash in more of the Star Wars craze, but doesn't make a lick of any real sense whatsoever.

   So why does RiffTrax need to riff this, even if it is a sitcom?

   1) The strange mash-up premise: Not sense NBC once considered a Flintstones-Star Wars send up (no really), Starstruck comes off with a combination with western homesteaders in space. Even the main character is wearing clothes you might find from the 17th Century. (Probably suspect this was due to the mainstay of Sci-Fi Hero wardrobes in the 70s, remember Jason of Star Command?)

   2)Incessant need of alien costumes and an Irish speaking android. One thing I always thought was funny, as with TSWHS Catina scene, apparently produces presumed unless you had people in Sid & Marty Krofft costumes posing as aliens, you have absolutely NO IDEA you're in space. Surely not from the light star scene outside, nor the cutscenes showing space craft. At times you'll wonder if you're really watching a sci-fi sitcom, or just a lost episode of the Muppet Show.

   3) Inexplicable subplots: What really killed this show was the fact you can hardly follow what's going on in this intergalactic station. In fact, the only thing I could make out was a villain terrorizing the place, and the main character fighting him in zero gravity (I guess), with his family looking on, then applauding him when he wins.

   Overall one wonders what the CBS execs were thinking when they greenlighted this pilot, but it interesting to see how many ways you can have a show set in space. This is one I'd love to see the RiffTrax Crew, either the guys or Mary Jo and Bridget, tackle this one, despite the laughtrack.

   Because even though it's supposed to be a comedy, it's not a very good one and oddly makes TSWHS look better for some reason.

9. Australia's Naughtiest Home Videos

   Seriously, folks; this is actually the SHORTEST LIVED TELEVISION SERIES IN THE WORLD! IT ONLY LASTED HALF AN EPISODE! AN ENTIRE CONTINENT (1/7TH OF THE WHOLE WORLD) DIDN'T EVEN GET TO FINISH WATCHING THE FIRST EPISODE, AND THIS WAS AT THE MANAGER'S REQUEST!     You've done many great (?) Christmas B-movies - why not tackle some classics with Just The Jokes? It's a Wonderful Life, the Grinch (the Jim Carrey one is especially ripe to riff), Home Alone, Miracle on 34th street, the various TV specials (many available on Netflix etc.) like Rudolph, Frosty, etc.

11. Halloween (1978)

    Hi, Rifftrax! This year is the 40th anniversary of John Carpenter's Halloween! I love the mp3 commentary done by Mike and Kevin, but it would also be nice to have one that includes Bill. I know it would probably be almost impossible to get the rights to have the full streaming video available, but even just a new mp3 commentary would be great!

12. The People Under the Stairs (1991)

    Two adults and a 13 year old called Fool (Based from a Tarot card) break into a racist Landlord's house to discover a horrific secret. Riff material includes:

    • Wes Craven film
    • Mommy and Daddy are played by Wendy Robie and Everett McGill, who played married couple Ed and Nadine Hurley on Twin Peaks.
    • Ving Rhames has to deal with a man who owns a gimp suit. Twice.
    • The Hero in the film is called Fool. Sounds like a Blaxploitation name straight from the 1970s films.

13. Billy Jack or The Trial of Billy Jack.

    An icon of a film for the late Boomer generation it blew our (13-14 yo) minds. Does not hold up so well pretty much anytime after 1979.
    My brother was attending the U of A. When it was being filmed and was an extra. He said that contrary to popular beliefs, Tom Laughlin did not do his own stunts nor as far as he could tell did not practice martial arts. He said when it came time for the hero to deliver his brand of justice, the director would call cut and a Korean guy about the same stature of Laughlin would come out of his trailer and fight the bad guys.
    This film and "Billy Jack" are the perfect kind of movie cheese that almost too easy a target and deserves a Riffing! Even better if done as a Kickstarter project.

14. It's Wonderful Being a Girl

    Oh, this brings back a memory! In 5th grade, the girls got a note that they were going to the auditorium to see this film while we were stuck in class. As the Paul McCartney song "Girls' School" says, "they put the papers on the window"! I remember being jealous that the girls got their own movie.
    When I asked one of the girls what the movie was about, I got a very terse "none of your business"! This would make a great short to riff -- although it might be safer for Bridget and Mary Jo to do it!

15. MST3K final episode - with or without Diabolik

    I just saw Season 10, episode 13, the final episode, but had to watch a crappy VHS rip because that's all there is. If you can't get the rights to Diabolik anymore, could you please release the host segments of this episode? It is a really great episode and of course a landmark, and deserves to be available in glorious 640x480! Thanks!

16. McDonalds Corporation McDonalds Land

    I saw this on Our Nostalgic Memories YouTube channel. Oh my. Basically a film sent to franchise owners to get them to invest in dangerous looking playground equipment adorned with freakishly scary McDonalds characters. Grimace alone is a guaranteed nightmare inducer. Their stone cold corporate hearts equate making money with family fun. I can’t imagine the fun you guys can have with this one. About 13 minutes.

18. XXX (3 Riffer Edition)

    Just like with 5th Element or Carnival of Souls, with one riffer, it's only okay...it needs 2 or 3 to really kick it off. I mean I have the original CoS Mike riff and I saw the one that RiffTrax graciously put up on YouTube (on their official channel). The extra riffers make the difference.

    No offense, Mike...it's not you, I'd get the same "meh" with Kevin alone or Bill alone...a good riff needs more than one riffer!
