An error occurred while saving the comment Jennifer commentedYou could do EITHER of them. That's right, there are TWO animated ripoffs of Titanic. They're unrelated, but both feature talking mice and other animals, and hideous historical inaccuracies. In fact, the one WITHOUT the rapping dog is even MORE inaccurate...because it DEPICTS EVERYONE BEING SAVED. By a CUTE OCTOPUS.

An error occurred while saving the comment Jennifer commentedWell, yeah--I mean, hasn't the Casablanca riff proved you can even riff GOOD movies?

An error occurred while saving the comment Jennifer commentedI'm watching it on HBO right now (okay, it's bad but the score's still pretty good). What gets me is that the original stage play was way more faithful to the original book (even more so than the 1939 movie, for that matter). It began and ended in Kansas and Dorothy was a young teen/tween. So where did this business of making Dorothy from New York and turning her into an adult kindergarten teacher come from?
Anyway, since you guys poked fun at it in the Star Wars Holiday Special riff it makes sense that you should do this one.

An error occurred while saving the comment Jennifer commentedI actually saw this riffed as part of a fan-made MST3K continuation. It has what is probably THE dumbest deus ex machina in the history of film:
"Imperial Battleship...HALT THE FLOW OF TIME!"

Oh, I dunno. I grew to like Crowe more and more on subsequent hearings. It was Jackman that actually disappointed me--which surprised me, since he was the one with the musical theater credentials. It wasn't that Jackman's voice was BAD, it just didn't seem like quite the right fit for Valjean.
I liked this movie (and would like it even more if they released an extended edition with some of the cut material restored), but I can see where riffers would get a lot of mileage out of it--especially with Wolverine references to be made.
