  3. Sherlock Holmes and the Deadly Necklace (1962)

The ingredients for a good movie were all here. Christopher Lee as Holmes, Thorley Walters as Dr Watson and director Terence Fisher who did a superb version of "The Hound Of The Baskervilles" in 1959 was brought in to direct. Some consider the latter to be the best ever Sherlock Holmes film. It was certainly a strong contender for this and it was one of Hammer's finest hours, but alas, this low budget German production was a disaster from the word go. The storyline wasn't worthy of Conan Doyle and the music score which varies between jazz and pop robbed…

  4. Flash Gordon: Purple Death From Outer Space (1966)

Feature-Length edit of the 1940 serial "FLASH GORDON CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE. Emperor Ming returns, targeting Earth with a mysterious substance that causes death, leaving the victims purple (though you wouldn't know it, since this is in B&W). 6. Leadfoot (1982)

Long before they did PSAs about Texting and Driving, before calling and driving, even before the genuine term 'road rage' had become common, you had the film with Philip McKeon (yeah, the son from 'Alice') and Peter Barton called 'Leadfoot.'

Before I get into the plot and reasons themselves, I want to tell you something funny about safety films of the Eighties. Apparently after producers got fed up with their films being glossed over in schools, they decided to not only produce these shows to be broadcast on television, but to simultaneously cram these films down upcoming students' throats by…

  8. Wonderful World of Tupperware (1959)

This short starts out with typical footage of Tupperware being made. Lots of perfect riff fodder. THEN, it shifts into pure "WTF" and then some. I swear you'll want to take drugs for this part to make sense. Seriously, Rifftrax guys, you'll love and hate this short! It's too "What the Hell" times 9000!

  9. Dirty Dancing

Maybe it's the fact that I was forced by my sister's obsession over this movie to watch it over and over again until I learned the script by heart, but I found it so cheesy that I'm burning for "revenge" to see it riffed.

  14. Day of the Animals (1977)

Day of the Animals (1977) "stars" Leslie Nielsen as a hiker that comes down with an allergy to shirts right as a forest full of coked up animals sing Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It." Only less cocaine fueled and more Solar Radiation-y fueled. Which is something science says exists.. Shirtless Nielsen walks tall and carries a big stick most the film, fights a bear shirtless, and says some things I consider racist while shirtless. There's also an environmental aspect to the film which is all the rage these days. Go Green!

  15. No Retreat, No Surrender

Jean Claude Van Damme's first credited movie, though he's not in it that much. This movie has everything: Bad acting, bad direction, ludicrous plot (Loser gets trained to do karate by Bruce Lee's ghost), fat people running, 80s-ness out the wazoo, Van Damme for real kicking people in the face (according to Wikipedia), lots of retreating and surrendering despite the title. RIFF THIS MOVIE!

  18. Truth or dare? A critical madness

This is a terrible 80's movie about a man who catches his wife having an affair with his best friend and goes on a killing spree. It features many great scenes that could be riffed including games of truth or dare that end in: faces being peeled off, grenades exploding in mouths, fingers being cut off.. complete with super cheesy special effects make-up. Pair that with "Birdemic" quality camera work and sound and you have one of the corniest 80's slashers around. Perfect for riffing!

  20. Lightblast

Starring Erik Estrada! The movie opens with him naked with a roasted chicken about to negotiate with some overacty goons holding up a bank. LOTS of people get killed or their face are melted like crayons (literally) because of the Lightblast machine... I have seen it many times and can't explain the plot. We see Erik drive every vehicle possible and not even wince too much when his girlfriend is killed in front of him. In one scene she is wearing a shirt that has a picture of them together on it- I believe it's her pajamas. Need I explain…
