2. Traxx

   In addition to the title, there's also the plot...."an ex-cop that knows nothing about the law but everything about justice." But now he wants to settle down and turn to a life of fresh-baked cookies. Too bad he can't bake! Now he's forced to turn to gang-busting for 'fun and profit' (actual quote from the box!!!!!) to fund his bakery.

6. Americathon (1979)

   The late-70s were known pretty much as the age of Apocalyptic Future. If it wasn't about old people being turned into foodstuffs, it was about Apes ruling the planet, or those escaping their age limit of turning 30...

   John Ritter (Three's Company) and Harvey Korman star in this odd futuristic tale about a bankrupt US, and what they must perform to keep their country being 'repossessed' not by the Chinese, but wealthy Native Americans.

   Told in narrative flashbacks, where people are now living in cars (there's an 80s song in there somewhere, oh well), a TV consultant is hired by the President (Ritter) to organize a telethon to raise the funds to save the country.

   As expected things don't go according to plan as a saboteur is hired by the Arabian Nation to prevent the telethon from succeeding so they can buy out the United States from the Native Americans.

   The film also includes Meatloaf long before he was hacked up in the Rocky Horror Picture Show, or was going out to capture Yetis.

   Mainly this film is an interesting one to riff just for the sheer nonsense of it all and, yes, Mike, it will make you scratch your head while Bill will seriously ponder 'what the hell was that?' Not sure how Kevin would react, but hey, what's there not to like, Ritter being President, or Harvey Korman being an MC for this telethon.

   Also did I mention it has Jay Leno fighting his mom in this?

9. The Exorcist (1973)

   1. One of the scariest movies ever. Horror and comedy share a thin line. Hopefully Rifftrax can make it an enjoyable watch or decrease the nightmares..

   2. The director's cut has more creepy images to RIff. Like doing cirque du soleil down some stairs and that weird face that pops up.
      But there's always the head trick in the theatrical.

   3. Lends itself to regular viewings AND holiday annual watching.

10. Electrical Safety From A to Zap (c 1970s - Electricity Safety Short)

    As Rifftrax knows every decade possessed a safety film warning about specific dangers. In the 1960s and 70s it was dealing with electricity. Apparently because children were now accidentally electrocuting themselves by sticking forks and paper clips in outlets, rather than throwing cans of gasoline on fires or playing in traffic.

    So there came a barrage of safety films (usually put out by the electric companies) to educate us that despite it being the classic toon joke for Tom & Jerry and Looney Tunes films, getting shocked with 10,000 volts was serious business.

    So serious, that one company actually produced an animated short (with a supplement comic book no less) to educate just that.

    A to Zap is an animated film about a cat and mouse and the dangers of electricity (believe it or not). Basically (as expected) we see the cat attempting to pursue the mouse, only to get 'zapped' by a frayed wired, grabbing a live wire, and other assorted means, until the mouse warns the cat about the feline's carelessness.

    Without any real explanation, the mouse becomes all 'Mr. Peabody.' like, forgetting that the cat wants him for a blue-plate special and explains how electricity works and its dangers.

    Rather a hilarious film for the fact you're having a cat and mouse having to explain why you shouldn't stick thing in an outlet, grab power lines, or touch active frayed wires. This one would be an excellent short for Mike, Kevin and Bill to riff because it's not only a safety film, but an animated one at that. Oh, here's the comic which went with it.

    Watch this again and tell me it's not a goldmine. I love it, but it is hilarious. Weird shots, weird names, some weird voices and acting decisions....
