  1. Leif Jonker's Darkness

It's a really low budget horror movie I unearthed at a Blockbuster one day. I remember it being quite bad in an entertaining way.

  4. The Secret Kingdom

Sometimes creepy, sometimes surreal, always horribly made, this movie about two kids that get transported to a teeny tiny kingdom under their kitchen sink (yes, you read that correctly) is the kind of movie you find on a videotape shoved in the back of your cabinet that nobody remembers buying.

  7. Ray the Raychem Seal

This is a delightfully odd little industry film, made for the Raychem company, starring long-time Muppet builder and performer Dave Goelz as the titular Ray, an exuberant seal who seems to take great joy in showing off the products made by Raychem. It's fairly dry compared to the types of industrial shorts Jim Henson made, but that also makes it perfect for riffing!

  8. Ninja Operation - Knight and Warrior

Terrible dubbing, outrageous action sequences, plenty of crash zoom visuals and dubious 80s fashion, a man dressed in a ninja outfit which looks like a human banana... oh and gymnastics.

  9. Car Crash (1981)

a 1981 Italian-Spanish-Mexican action film directed by Antonio Margheriti starring Joey Travolta. The movie can't make up its mind whether it is Italian or Mexican and features Polish mafia leader Eli Wrosnky. A failed attempt at a plot and loaded with bad acting. And it stars a Firebird, one of the most beloved cars in 1980s films and TV shows. What more can I say. Highly recommended.

  11. the Idolmaker

A 1981 musical set in the 1950s with a killer soundtrack. The rest of the movie was sorta "meh" but with lots of riffable material.

  13. 'Under The Rainbow' (1981)

    Reason One:
Little People. 150 drunken party crazed little people. LOTS of them. There's even NAZI little people for chrissakes (played by Billy Barty!). Set in 1938, they're all staying at the Culver Hotel in Hollywood for the filming of "The Wizard of Oz."

    Reason Two:
Carrie Fisher (at the peak of her beauty) did this movie between Star Wars & Empire Srikes Back. And she's running around in her underwear (like, a LOT) chasing after Chevy Chase. Cocaine is a helluva drug.

    Reason Three:
Uhmmm... it's a fantastically bad movie that was found offensive to little people by critics…

Huh? Am I the only one here who has watched this movie? Because surely I'm not the first to recommend the riffing of Asteroid City.

  17. Jackie Brown 1997

Jackie Brown (1997), the third film from director Quentin Tarantino, serves as his subtle homage to Blaxploitation.

    Riff Material includes:
    - Pam "Foxy Brown" Grier is introduced as titular character Jackie Brown to "Across 110th Street" by Bobby Womack.
    - Samuel "Snakes on a Plane" L Jackson wearing long hair and a braided goatee.
    - The Trunk scene paired with Strawberry Letter 23 by The Brother Johnson (Makes sense in Context)
    - Johnny Cash in a Blaxploitation film? Only from Tarantino.

  18. The Black Cat (Luigi Cozzi - 1989)

This is one of the funniest/stupidest movies I've ever seen. As goofy and watchable as Ghosthouse, but way stupider.
Luigi Cozzi (Contamination, Starcrash) made this unauthorized sequel to Dario Argento's Suspiria about a director who decides to make an unauthorized sequel to Dario Argento's Suspiria. His wife, Anne, will play the evil witch. The REAL evil witch is offended that someone will playing her in a movie and jumps out of a mirror and pukes green slime on his wife's face (this is MINUTES into the movie). The rest of the movie is his wife having nightmares about the witch…

  20. Dr. Otto & the Riddle Of The Gloom Beam

Jim Varney's first "Ernest" film is something straight out of a fever dream. Nothing makes sense and you're wondering the whole time why no responsible adults intervened to stop it from happening. Sheer insanity.
