Gymkata is a 1985 martial arts film starring Olympic gymnast Kurt Thomas as Jonathan Cabot, an Olympic gymnast who combines his gymnastic ability with martial arts to enter a deadly competition in a fictional country, Parmistan. The reason for this is 2 fold, so when he wins he can allow the USA to set up a station within the countries borders and to find out what happened to his father, who competed last year and is know missing.
This movie is full of funny technical errors and bad acting, besides of course the crazy premise and rather off use of a gymnastic floor routine as a martial art. I will let the movies trailer show you just how funny this one is... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Mkl9rtttog

The WORST plot ever, Kurt Thomas CANNOT act to save his life & the stunts being tied to gymnastics!
A Gymkata riff is coming."

I remember my entire high school gymnastics team making an outing out of this film. Well worth mocking
I'm surprised this has never been done. Might even be worthy of the live show treatment.
It's not over yet, so put your riff back in your pants.
Okay... fair enough. I didn't know what to say in order to support this necessary riffing. Just get it done already!
You guys would really like this for a riff- it's too bad to be forgotten!
I can only imagine they haven't done this yet because of weird licensing rights or something. It's a must-Riff :D
PLEASE PLEASE DO THIS MOVIE.
I remember when this came out in 1985, and no one could believe it was a real movie -- all the ads sounded like SNL or Kentucky Fried Movie fake trailers!
I finally watched it recently and it's even better/worse than I'd hoped for. Such a perfect snapshot of that crappy mid-80s zeitgeist: Olympics (we'd just hosted them the year before and won countess medals since the Russkies and friends boycotted), ripped-from-the-headlines-yet-still-vague foreign/geopolitical intrigue, Reagan's Star Wars project, Canon Films-style low budget values...
This film is BEGGING for at least a just-the-jokes riff. It's readily available for rent/buy since the dvd release, and sometimes crops up on streaming services.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Mike, Kevin and Bill!!!!
Weirdly enough, my AP US History teacher has a poster of this movie in his classroom for some reason.
GYMKATA!!!!!!!!!!!! REASON ONE: GYMKATA. REASON TWO: GYMKATA. REASON THREE: GYMKATA!!

I know, that they know, that we all wanna see this epic pile of eighties action get riffed. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9DQpvcg04mqZXNfYTBGeDRZaEE/view?usp=sharing
Hey guys, how's it going. I just wanna say.... GYMKATA!
This one is long, LONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG overdue!
I can't believe this hasn't happened yet... with its referenced life on MST3k--which means they've clearly seen the movie--so, wow. Just please make this happen. Such a ripe piece of deserved low hanging fruit.
SO many pregnant pauses for commentary to be inserted, SO many unnatural interactions and exclamations ("I'll kill him" said with the same enthusiasm as "another news story about a missing pet," and SO many opportunities for Richard Dean Anderson comments as 'ol Kurt Thomas looks like a young MacGyver ("Cabot, we've located another Stargate in Parmistan...")
This movie blew my mind, which doesn't happen a lot. DO IT!
This needs to happen if only for the number of times it was referenced on MST3k. And also because it sounds rediculous.
