The Land of Faraway
A 1987 Swedish fantasy film for children, fraught with uncomfortable Freudian plot elements, child endangerment, laughable special effects, and a little-known child actor called Christian Bale as Jum Jum. Also features the legendary Christopher Lee, Timothy Bottoms, and a scene where a giant flying head rescues a child from his hellish existence by flying him into space, nestled in the tangles of his newspaper beard while a mewling Europop song tries its best to be "The Neverending Story."

This was on of 5 films we had available to watch as kids in our bomb shelter (I wish I was joking) This movie is so ridiculously bad even as kids we made fun of it. But it’s the giant floating old man head that makes the movie for me.

The Mio my Mio movie! I remember watching this as a kid and thinking that at the end, the kid didn't look as happy as you'd expect a child to be, once they discovered that they're the son of a king.
I remember it by that name because that freaking song chorus got stuck in my head.

It’s also based on a book by Astrid Lindgren (author of Pippi Longstocking and Ronia the ******’s Daughter), just to add a little to the insanity.
