Circle of Iron
It is a 1978 insult to Bruce Lee. Yet another martial arts movie with David Carridine, Christopher Lee and Roddy McDowell. An Ator like hero seeks the Book of All Knowledge and ends up learning a valuable lesson. It stinks!!!

Written by Bruce Lee and James Coburn!
Jeff Cooper actually looks like Miles O'Keefe (Ator)! I waited for the credits just to be sure.
The plot tries and fails to make sense. It's basically a bunch of retired martial artists developing a system with a lot of expense and mysticism when the younger martial artists really just need a good therapist.
Please Riff this one live!

I saw this on some cable channel in the early 1980's, and it's a martial arts movie which takes itself *way* too seriously. It includes several notable actors. IMDB says it's an R-rated film, but the version I saw might have a few scenes removed. The main thing I remember is the main character walking through a lot of sand, and meeting a lot of goofy characters who were trying to say profound things.
There was a second character in the film who was also searching for knowledge, and once he finally gets to the very last step he chickens out. And then David Carradine's character gets to the very last step, he does *NOT* chicken out, he opens The Book, and ends up laughing and walking away. I won't give it away, but note that "The Book" is really just a single "page".
I don't think I've seen the film since the mid-1980's, but I remember watching this with some of my friends and we were basically riffing on it, because it just begs to be riffed.

Was just getting ready to suggest this.
The SECOND I saw this dvd, I snatched it up and bought it.
It's in my "Cheese" section, along with "Sssssss" Lugosi's "Ghosts on the Loose" and the first "Legend of Boggy Creek".
