This film plays on the PMRC-era irrational fear of explicit rock lyrics poisoning the fragile minded youth complete with ignorant prudish parents and the rebellious easily influenced high school teens. The only nuance is that the famous band "Black Roses" decide to start their world tour in tiny Mill Basin's high school auditorium!! They do have ulterior motives though...turn into Gwar-like monsters then possess the kids of Mill Basin and beyond with their sinister heavy metal concerts! Mission accomplished, kind of..despite teacher Mr Moorhouse's (John Martin) attempts to save the day with his strange ramblings about American Literature! By the way...in some of the classroom scenes what gives with the bird chirping too loudly at inopportune times? Hellooo foley artist! The kids eventually start killing the pesky parents and faculty that get in their way. How can you deny the humor in the Soprano's very own "Big P*$$y" Vincent Pastore in his first movie role as angry dad Mr Ames getting eaten by an evil monster living in his son's Cerwin-Vega speaker? All he wanted to do was read the evening paper! Believe it or not, things get even weirder. What's the best way to kill topless Julie-turned-catmonster? Beat her with a tennis racket then shove a tennis ball in her mouth of course! Black Roses "playing" (ok, lip-syncing) the Lizzy Borden classic -Me Against The World- as the rallying cry for the band-turned-demons was fun! You'll also see drumming legend Carmine Appice...I mean..."Vinny Apache" deliver a couple of lines!! Please riff this gem from the folks who brought you Rock N Roll Nightmare & Zombie Nightmare!
