Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure
This movie is from 1977, and is a full on acid trip!..
The story is about a search for a doll that gets "Kidnapped" from the playroom of a little girl by a pirate in a snow globe. The stars of the film Raggedy Ann & Andy, go on a magical adventure into what can only be described as the drug fueled dreams of a mad man who ate one too many tabs of acid
This was one of the movies my sisters and i would watch as children. when we found a DVD and watched as adults... we could only wonder why we were allowed to watch this. Thank you for all of the laughs over the years, and if you could riff this.. well.. it would just be great.

This movie veers wildly between somewhat passable if boringly plotted whimsical kids fair and a lurching descent into the bowels of madness. This movie was originally scripted to be a stage musical- which shows. And also
"...this movie was financed by the Bobbs-Merrill Company, which was the publishing arm of International Telephone & Telegraph (ITT). ITT wanted to put out a children’s movie as a PR move to make themselves look better after they were implicated as CIA collaborators in the 1973 Chilean coup d'état."
Which also shows. You must explore this strangeness.

Agreed. I was maybe six years old when my mom took me to see this in the theater, haven't been right since.

No argument there, Clayton, I got lured into watching this film thanks to the Chuck Jones' special. Didi Conn (Cupcake of 'Fonz and the Happy Days Gang,' and Frenchy from 'Grease') did the voice for Raggedy Ann. The most disturbing was the Molasses Monster (I think that's what he was called) Ann, Andy & the Camel with the Rumpled Knees comes across while attempting to rescue the doll. Yes, Kevin, Bill & Mike should riff this one.
