silver bullet 1985
a film adaptation of the short story "cycle of the werewolf" originally written by stephen king. Red flags go up in my mind immediately anytime I see a film adaptation of a king story; always horrible. This film has to be the highest touted "werewolf film" that never fails to deliver many dark and laughable scenarios and very little werewolf. As if this isn't enough to work with they throw in a mid 80's pre cycling accident, yet still unrecognizably less brain damaged; taking any role he can get after the buddy holly story, Gary Busey. If that still doesn't fan up the pile they're pushing they also throw us an insolvent Terry O'quinn; 20 years before being lost as John Lock yet still properly described as lost. Possible masterpiece. "oh that hurts my parts" ...Line uttered by alcoholic character #2 in film... After he intimidates his adolescent daughter he drinks and watches wrestling before being served up as an excuse to show 10 - 15 seconds of werewolf murder...which actually doesn't qualify as werewolf murder when the drunken character falls through the floor of a dilapidated shed which would probably thin this guy out without any further help...but alas the werewolf is in the same area at the time so....just a steaming king pile of s***.

Car chase featuring a jet powered wheelchair. Enough said.

Why didn't Megan Follows just break her slate on the werewolf's head?

The wolf looks like a bear! And, in most "kid solves monster problem" movies, the kid is already a monster guru and is really smart and quick. This kid was whining because they cancelled the fireworks!

Watching the film now on Amazon Prime and...WOW...does it ever need the Rifftrax treatment. Goofy effects, bizarre priest-with-an-eye-patch trying to kill disable child moments (plural!) and the aforementioned Mr. Busey make this a must-riff.
