Guys come on- you know this movie premise is totally believable! Flashdance IS1983- Because hot girls always have a hard time making ends meet (eye roll) and have to have two blue-collar jobs- (is strip dancing blue-collar?) while they wait to try out for real dance school- Considering Alex seems to be on some combination of ludes and Red Bull throughput the whole movie, I think she does pretty well for herself- here are this movie's links
