Night of the Comet
A movie that I actually liked back in the 80s...until I turned 16. Halley's Comet makes its pass in 1984, and wipes out everyone who didn't spend the night encased in metal of some sort. Oddly enough, two of the survivors are sisters who spent the night separately, what are the odds?! They spend their time in a department show doing fashion montages and fighting off the zombies, who are people that didn't die...but didn't get turned into dust by the comet... I don't know. Maybe Mike, Bill, and Kevin can figure it out.

An odd (and oddly lovable) movie from the 1980s. I watched it for the first time on cable TV during the 2020 pandemic months. A weirdly relevant film when viewed in that context.
Also, the soundtrack is shockingly good for a movie like this one.
I'm not really sure this one would work well as a riffed movie. But Rifftrax should at least consider doing it.

I’ve watched this movie before and decided to watch it on Pluto TV today. It’s such a strange film that I knew it would be perfect for RiffTrax! Let’s what you got guys!

I just watched this and it's so surreal- it's supposed to be a parody of sci-fi films but it's so much more than that! As weird as this movie is, (it's from 1984) there isn't one bit of it that DOESN'T make perfect and total sense- of course a comet would turn anyone outside to red calcium dust when it passed by earth -and a bunch of scientists living underground need survivor's blood to make a serum to cure people who didn't turn to red calcium dust but turned into zombies- yeah, total sense! Fun fact-This movie stars Catherine Mary Stewart of The Apple fame! Helpful link and full movie
