Surviving the Game
I believe that the material speaks for itself... also Gary Busey.

Are you referring to the 1994 movie Surviving the Game with Ice-T, Rutger Hauer, and Gary Busey? Or is this about a game concept inspired by it? Either way, Gary Busey definitely adds a unique energy to anything he's in!

"Surviving the Game" is a classic! The premise is wild—surviving a deadly hunting game with some big names like Rutger Hauer, Ice-T, and, of course, Gary Busey. Busey’s eccentric energy adds a lot to the movie's chaotic tone. It's definitely a bit of a guilty pleasure with all its intense action and over-the-top performances. What part stands out most to you?

Rutger Hauer and Jake Busey’s Dad, weave a crazy web of deceit when the “RICH” get loaded, it’s all thanks to (unfortunately not a true “lemon drink” ) ICE-T as the lead thing-guy getting hunted by B-C movie actors ... the supporting cast rules

Surviving the Game
Why?
1) Gary Busey, Rutgers Hauer, IceT
2) Takes a classic trope (Man is the most dangerous game...) and treats it like all late 80’s/early 90’s movies treat every subject - like a cheap action thriller with bad acting, mediocre effects, obvious plots, bad dialog, and did I mention bad acting?
3) Dude brings his 18 year old son for the first time on his Man’s Man annual hunting trip and is shocked, SHOCKED and embarrassed when his son has doubts upon learning he is to hunt and kill a homeless dude (IceT)
4) Heads of former “hunting helpers” in jars ala Far Side.
5) Booby trapped motorcycles resulting in what are supposed to be horrifying and shocking injuries that just look silly.
6) Rutger Hauer dressed as as a priest in sunglasses as a disguise - it works great if you are trying to look EXACTLY like Rutger Hauer dressed as a priest.
7) Lots and lots or earnest trying by the writers, director, and actors ... which pays off not one little bit fir any of them.I think ya’ll would relish this one.
“A homeless man is hired as a survival guide for a group of wealthy businessmen on a hunting trip in the mountains, unaware that they are killers who hunt humans for sport, and that he is their new prey.”
Director: Ernest R. Dickerson (as Ernest Dickerson)
Writer: Eric Bernt
Stars: Rutger Hauer, Ice-T, Charles S. Dutton |
