Head
The Monkees' psychedelic foray unto the big screen. Bob Rafelson (who would later direct Five Easy Pieces) directs and co-wrote the film with Jack Nicholson (yes that Jack Nicholson. He even has a brief cameo!). Needless to say, lots of drugs were involved in the making of this film. In addition to the four Monkees (Micky Dolenz, Peter Tork, Michael Nesmith, and the late Davy Jones), the film features Annette Funicello, Frank Zappa, Sonny Liston, Teri Garr, Toni Basil, and Victor Mature. I think there's a lot of riffing potential.

@Kristy Actually, Kristy, The Monkees at first didn't play their own instruments, not because they couldn't, but because they were prevented from doing so when they did the TV show (contractual obligations forced them to accept the network/studio's session players). Only after making their "Headquarters" album did they start playing their own instruments (with "Headquarters" onward, they used a loophole, I forget what it was, but they were able to get around it somehow, it's in the documentary about their lives). So the movie "Head" was well after the TV show ended, so yes, they played their own instruments for the "Head" soundtrack, and I believe it was produced by the same producer as the "Headquarters" album.

Oh yes, "Head" is perfect fodder for riffing! Do it!

It's got more votes than Radical Jack guys! And they don't play their own instruments- but that's ok!

As much as I LOVE The Monkees and most especially my honest to goodness friend Peter Tork...I would LOVE to see my favorite things come together. PLEASE RIFF HEAD.

It's like the infamous "Drugs Are Like That" short... only at 90+ minutes, and with Peter Tork!
