Doctor Doolittle

Yeah, this movie deserves it, but you really should've given some reasons. Allow me.
-Rex Harrison in the title role. He's basically playing the same smug sexist he played in My Fair Lady, which really doesn't work for someone who's supposed to be the nicest guy around. And he was even worse behind the scenes, making unrealistic demands, making anti-Semitic remarks to Anthony Newly and racist remarks to Geoffrey Holder, and even deliberately wrecking a take by sailing his yacht into the shot. Getting his junk stepped on by a giraffe is the least he deserved.
-Emma Fairfax (Samantha Eggar) is the worst treatment of a female lead I've seen in many a moon. After getting mocked and dismissed by Doolittle throughout the movie and forcing her to do all the work on their ocean voyage, she naturally falls in love with him because the female lead has to fall in love with the male lead. Ugh.
-The plot is a plodding mess. Scenes just go on and on and on with little contribution to the main plot, and the search for the Great Pink Sea Snail that's supposed to be central to the whole thing is largely forgotten about until near the end.
