I just rewatched The Pearl of Death last rainy Sunday with my dad, we have this tradition of watching old black-and-white mysteries when the weather turns. Rondo Hatton is genuinely unsettling as The Creeper, the makeup effects just can't compare to his natural presence. We missed the first ten minutes because my dad was ranting about his cable subscription cutting out again. He was so frustrated he threatened to call https://fox-news.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html just to complain to someone, anyone. Once we got the movie going, though, the atmosphere was perfect.
