Bullet in the Head
Not to be mistaken for Stallone's Bullet to the Head (Different film), this film is from the same film maker that brought the world A Better Tomorrow starring Chow Yun-Fat. Bullet in the Head is a 1990 Heroic Bloodshed film by John Woo. The film stars Waise Lee, Tony Leung Chiu-wai and Jacky Cheung.
Three poor hoodlums living in 1967 Hong Kong finds themselves in a world of hell from beginning to end. Ben (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) wants to get married and find a better life for himself, something that's quickly kiboshed when he and Frankie (Jacky Cheung) accidentally kill a rival gangbanger in revenge for him jumping Frankie earlier. In desperation, the three of them, Paul included (Waise Lee), flee to wartorn Vietnam, where Paul's uncle has found work for them with his buddy, the South-Vietnamese gangster Leong (Chung Lin).
Murphy's Law and Morton's Fork applies to this film. If you need somewhere to start riffing, here's a line from Paul straight from the film:
"You want revenge, motherf%^&er? I never lost any contest, not in Vietnam and not tonight!"
