Desperation (2006)
A film based on a Stephen King book (pause for laughter) about a town in Nevada called Desperation where a psychotic sheriff (Ron Pearlman) is capturing or killing everyone passing through.
Reasons for my riff request:
1. Ron Pearlman chewing scenery like Nick Cage on bath salts.
2. Bizarre dialogue that only a Stephen King mini series could deliver.
3. Comically hamfisted pseudo-religious twaddle that always seems to boil down explanations of what's happening to "because God said so, shut up."
4. A kid escapes jail with a magic bar of glowing green Irish Spring.

I just rewatched Desperation (2006) and yeah, Ron Perlman is absolutely unhinged, like he mainlined espresso and holy water. The dialogue is so wild it loops back to genius, and that kid’s glowing Irish Spring escape? Peak King weirdness. Honestly, it reminds me of scrolling through https://spectrum.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html when my Wi-Fi dies mid-binge, equal parts frustrating and oddly comforting. Perfect late-night watch with cheap wine and zero expectations.
