Deep Space (1988)
The movie I would like to suggest for Rifftrax to riff is -
Deep Space (1988)

This movie is by B-movie director Fred Olen Ray. I believe he’s made some real stinkers throughout his career. Though I read this was one of his “better” offerings :D. And while Deep Space is pretty awful I believe it’s also unintentionally hilarious and just ripe for a Rifftrax treatment. The film is quite the ripoff of the Aliens movies. It also is one of the rare times where Charles Napier is the lead actor in a movie and isn’t playing his typical bad guy role.
The 3 reasons I believe Rifftrax should tackle Deep Space are -
- It’s an heavy 80s-laden knockoff off the Aliens movies
- It is entertaining in its Alien design and unintentional hilariousness throughout, a hallmark of the some of the best Rifftrax offerings in my opinion, the latter part I mean
- The film features the only bagpipes seduction scene in a movie ever I believe, haha! That scene alone would give the Rifftrax guys and writers enough gut-busting material to work with for the whole movie almost I think.
I actually could probably list another 30 reasons why I believe this movie would be perfect for Rifftrax. But, you just asked for 3 main reasons. So I’ll leave it at that. But I hope you guys will at least please look into this film for a new Rifftrax. Thanks if you do and thanks to anyone who took the time to read my suggestion and or vote for it as well :). I’m grateful for that.
Side Note: Even though the movie is pretty bad I still applaud the practical FX used at times for the alien creature in it.
