When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth
I always remember this film as one of strangest dino films I had ever seen while growing up. Three of the reasons I'm suggesting this film for riffing are as follows.
Almost all of the characters in this film communicate with each other in a made up language that (get this) isn't translated with subtitles. The only character that speaks in English is the narrator, who's incredibly serious, as if you're watching a documentary
The main character is adopted by a giant dinosaur type creature which sorta looks like the Beast from 20,000 Fathoms and she befriends her "sibling". In fact, she teaches it to sit at one point
The humans all belong to a religion (cult?) that sacrifices blondes to the sun, and they spend their time freaking out, burning people (or attempting to), rolling around in the sand or hunting the main character and her boyfriend. It's more entertaining to see it than I can describe haha
On the plus side, the special effects are actually pretty good for the time, which actually adds to the charm of this basically being "One Million Years B.C. Lite"
