The Princess and the Pea (2002)
A direct-to-DVD Disney knockoff made by a Utah-based company called "Feature Films For Families," which tries to turn one of th emost straightforward Han Christian ANdersen fairy tales into an epic struggle of good vs. evil? You know you're in for a ride with this one. Highlights include a villain who is obsessed with becomig king above all else, yet overlooks a loophole in the coronation laws that allows his brother to be crowned instead, an unintentionally disturbing musical number with stained-glass windows coming to life, a scholar who is a talking bird for seemingly no reason other than because they wanted to rip off The Secret of NIMH, and a ridiculous attempt to make someone lying down for a nap exciting. But don't take my word for it. Here's the Musical Hell review for a more in-depth look.
