Harold and Maude (1971)
Cult classic pairs Bud Cort as a dead-pan disillusioned 20-year-old obsessed with suicide and a loveable Ruth Gordon as a fun-loving 80-year-old eccentric. They meet at a funeral, and develop a taboo romantic relationship, in which they explore the tired theme of the meaning of life with a fresh perspective

This movie is so out there it's in! One of cinema's modern classics, it truly explores what it means to live and love freely- the definition of living without boundaries and being yourself regardless of what society says is "normal" - just weird enough for the fringe element to dig it but just mainstream enough for it to be almost wholesome- watch it with someone you love but want to make just a little bit sad
