Pan (2015)
I bet Disney will sue the tar out of the crew who made this film.
This film won an award for "Best Picture That Sounds Like It's About Cookware" and "Best Non-Disney Copyright Infringing Picture", this film is a darker and edgier take on an old tale of Peter Pan, retold as an origin story that Marvel would have done a better job than that. And did I mention this film stars Levi Miller (SuperGirl), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and Garrett Hedlund (TRON: Legacy)? Oh dear. At least Nick Nolte isn't in there.

-The movie takes place during World War II, despite the original story having been written before World War I. The anachronisms only get worse later, when characters start singing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Blitzkrieg Bop."
-Peter starts out at an evil orphanage run by Scottish nuns channeling Mrs. Mavilda, forcing the orphans to do every dangerous job and eating their rations while serving them Krusty Brand Imitation Gruel. How does he get to Neverland? Get this: The nuns have a deal with the Neverland pirates, who come to take the orphans as slaves by breaking in through the ceiling in the middle of the night! How did the pirates and nuns come to this arrangement?! How are the orphans not noticing the other boys disappearing in the middle of the night?! And if this is happening in the middle of WWII, how are the pirates managing to slip past the RAF and the Luftwaffe?! You'd think a flying pirate ship over Scotland would be a cause for concern!
-Since this is an origin story for Peter Pan, it's an origin story for Captain Hook as well...as an affable guy with a Southern accent who befriends Peter. When will Hollywood learn that not every villain needs to have a backstory that turns them into a misunderstood woobie with a tragic fall from grace?!
