The app shows locked content or keeps asking me to subscribe, but I already am a Friends subscriber.


Sometimes our app gets broken and then fixed, but the app is trying to be "smart" and unfortunately might still have broken data inside. If you experience this issue (content is locked, pressing Play to watch a movie results in a "Subscribe" screen) please continue reading.

To fix this, you may need to just clear out that old data and relaunch the app:

On FireTV:


1. Go to the FireTV device's Home screen.
2. Click the "Gear" (Settings) icon over on the right side.
3. Navigate to Applications > Manage Installed Applications.
4. Click on RiffTrax.
5. Click Force Stop, then Clear Data (confirm) and then Clear cache.
6. Launch the application and re-link your account.

On Roku:


1. Select the "Home" menu, then press these keys on your remote: Home (5 times), Up (once), Rewind (2 times), and Fast Forward (2 times). 

2. Unplugging the power from your Roku TV or streaming device for a few moments will also clear the cache.

3. If this fails, please uninstall and reinstall the app, then authenticate again. Make sure you are logging in with the correct user associated with your subscription.


From then on, the app shouldn't ask you to erroneously subscribe again or log in again. But if it does, just open a Help ticket and we'd be glad to troubleshoot!
