More Serials sold better!
I just finished watching the 15 Batman shorts again and love them just as much as the first time. This made me sad that I was so hesitant to dive into them which I'm sure others are. I would love to see more of this kind of thing but I'm betting that many may have avoided it for various reasons so here's some problems and solutions for a hopeful next serial.
The number of episodes was daunting. It was annoying to hit buy 15 times. I would suggest episode 1 for free to overcome that "do I really want to watch all this?" issue. Ep. 2- 3 together for $4. Then $6 for 3 shorts together. This also helps the problem of "which episode am I on?"
That brings me to suggestion 2 - file names. I bought 3 at a time and once downloaded I kept having to check the website to see the order to watch. Some had no number. Some had the number on the end where it doesn't help order in the file system. It should be something like "Batman 14 Batman vs the wizard." Not "Batman vs the wizard" which says nothing about order or "Batman vs the wizard 14" which would come after "Batman victorious 15" alphabetically. Not cool guys.
Finding the episodes I wanted to buy was also a problem. The Batman category was not very helpful, nor was the suggested videos when I'd go back to one I purchased. Each page for the episode NEEDS to have a link to the previous and next in its description. Please.
Back to the number of episodes. In the end it was worth $30 but it was hard to think about spending that much total especially initially. Videogames often do a "season pass" and in addition to the $6 for 3 idea above, I'd suggest a second purchase path. Offer episodes 4-15 for $20 if purchased together. This could even be done as a preorder, getting the episodes as they are finished.
