   This is a genuinely bad movie. I feel bad, really bad, for the people who made it... It starts off with some dramatic potential and nice effects. Plus Liv Tyler and Jerry O'Connell. It begins as some sort of satire of 70s space films. Then it all just goes terribly wrong. They filmed a bunch of scenes, threw in some sex, an awful sub-plot about gerbil babies, presumably ran out of money, and glued it all together to make this weird disaster.

2. Steele Justice (1987) - Martin Kove, Sela Ward, Ronny Cox, Soon-Tek Oh

   "You don't recruit John Steele. You unleash him."

   Starring the inimitable Martin Kove as a Vietnam Vet who carries around a pet snake named "Three Step." This film includes fantastic scenes like the time John Steele's girlfriend was shooting her music video, as you do, when the Black Tigers (a.k.a. the bad guys) showed up in their primer-coated sports cars and motorcycles and wreaked havoc on the unassuming business center/set.

   There's also the time John Steele was walking on the beach with his pink sweater draped around his shoulders, awaiting the film's montage. If only the Cobra Kai could've seen him in action.

3. Something Borrowed

   I HATED this movie even more than I usually hate dumb chick flicks. Main characters are lying, cheating, and wishy-washy, but still portrayed as the good guys. Also Ginnifer Goodwin is in it.

4. Silverado

   At the start one of the main characters almost gets his nuts shot off and that is far from the only part worth comment, In town in his underwear.. Sorry I can't do images having it on VHS.

   The cast of the movie has so many greats doing amazingly good at their roles they are begging for commentary.

   Then there are long stretches of music setting tone when it might be hard to find a joke but there are allot of things done just so fitting to the reality of the setting it could still be played with. Including biased law and racism. Token Brit.

   I know I am not making a good case for it but your riffs have shown you are always more creative than I am and would still like to see it done.

5. The Game (The Cold)

   Director Bill Rebane (from MST3K fame, Giant Spider Invasion) returns with this gem that provides more under-acting, negative tension and suspense, cheese-ball effects, and bad dialogue, that you feel dirty afterwards. He actually samples music from Spider Invasion and you can hear it playing in the background in one scene. This screams to be riffed.

7. Fahrenheit 451 (1966)

   When Ray Bradbury penned this tale about firemen who set books on fire, I doubt he envisioned this little gem.

   Basically it's about a guy named Montag who sets books on fires, because for some reason they make people sad and cause wars (at least according to the film), and it's wild how this tale is spun.

   First he has to deal with his wife, who ends up almost o'ding on gold pills and is saved by some paramedics. Not to mention a hilarious scene where she is part of an interactive television show (surprisingly this was sort of ahead of its time).

   Then he meets a woman (who suspiciously resembles his wife--mainly because the same actress plays both roles) who is rather interesting, but is shunned because she doesn't buy into this non-reading crap.

   Then Montag watches an old woman set herself on fire when the firemen raid her house and discover an illegal 'library' there. Sneaking some books, he then makes one of his wife's friends upset because he reads a book, and strangely, it's not 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' (Maybe that's why he's upset.)

   The reason this needs to be riffed was basically Bradbury disliked this adaptation for the fact the way they sugar-coat the ending as opposed to how the book actually ends.

   Others are: 1) Despite the establishing segues, the film is a bit hard to follow since they like to pander on odd subjects; 2) The fact Montag seems more clueless about what's going on, let alone the fact the only other woman he meets is his wife's double; and 3) The director's strange scene where the fire chief seizes a mini 'Bible' from a baby, and shakes his finger at him (and you thought torturing the infant in 'Drugs Are Like That,' was bizarre).

8. Old Dracula (aka Old Drac; Vampira) [1974]

   Here's an interesting take on the vampire legend: Dracula portrayed as an Englishman (David Niven) who has recently transformed his castle into a tourist attraction in Transylvania. Secretly while inviting a magazine group to do a story about it, Dracula has ulterior motives.

   Strangely, it's not him preying on the young women, turning them into the undead. But instead, acquiring their blood to help his ailing wife he placed in cryostorage, Vampira (and no, not the same one from Plan 9).

   Seems about fifty years ago, Vampira bit a peasant with anemia and it nearly did her in. Fortunately after years of research, Drac has found the correct blood to cure her of her malady. Except when he performs the transfusion, an unexpected result occurs where Vampira becomes a black woman (played by Teresa Graves, no pun intended). Although Vampira thinks her husband is clever, Dracula wants to remedy the situation, but cannot recall which girl has the proper blood type.

   So they embark on a trip to London, with hilarious results as Vampira snacks on a fellow who has come back from a 'rejuvenation' clinic, admitting he has been transfused with sheep's blood.

   Anyway, Drac tracks down the photographer and puts the bite on him. But rather than make him into a vampire, Drac enthralls him in helping to find the correct girl by extracting the proper blood type.

   The rest of the film is hilarious for the fact this isn't quite the vampire film one would expect but it's interesting seeing Niven's take on the classic Transylvanian. And I definitely know RiffTrax should do this one, even if it is a comedy.

    I work at a nursing school and would LOVE to be able to share this with the students. In a competitive program like ours, students are under a lot of stress- they need a laugh or two!

    What would eventually become Heat was originally written in the mid-80s around the time of Manhunter, and Mann had been trying to get it made ever since. He eventually shot the script as a TV movie in 1989; called LA Takedown, its cast was largely made up of regular actors from Miami Vice and Crime Story

    Bill Pullman is a saxophone player (Yikes!) who suspects that his wife, played by Patricia Arquette, is cheating on him. After a series of unfortunate events, all of which involving a mysterious man played by Robert Blake (.....), Bull Pullman suddenly turns into Balthazar Getty (Wtf?). Then after getting involved with a different woman, who's also played by Patricia Arquette, Balthazar Getty finds himself in a whole lot of trouble when a mob boss/porn pimp, played by Robert Freakin' Loggia, wants to kill him for his betrayal. 16. The Night They Saved Christmas

    If you thought Art Carney was bad in the Star Wars Holiday Special, and was disturbing in that Twilight Zone Episode: "Night of the Meek," as a drunken Santa, then hold on to your hats!

    This was a Made-for-TV film back in 1984, where Art Carney reprises his role as St. Nick, aka Santa Claus. With this odd tale about how an oil corporation almost pulverizes Christmas (yeah, I know). Basically, the spiel is this: Jacklyn Smith plays as a mother with two kids, whose husband, Michael is drilling near the North Pole for oil. Not Alaska, not in Texas, but the North Pole..

    Anyhoo, Jacklyn and her kids meet an elf who takes them to Santa Claus' workshop. Enter Art Carney as Santa. The problem is the oil company blasting for oil is too close for comfort to Santa's Workshop and wants Jacklyn and the kids to tell her husband and their company the proper spot for the oil deposit (so much for being Eco-Friendly, eh?). As would expected nobody believes Jacklyn, or her kids, despite the fact there are obvious tell-tale signs. But what is worse, the husband's boss thinks some rival has drugged the wife and kids, in order to throw everyone off the track (hey, with some of the Holiday riffs you've guys done, anything's possible, eh?). So the kids go off into the North Pole to warn Santa that no one will believe them by traveling back via snowmobile..

    Anyway, not to give too much away (tho' I might have, sorry about that), this is one of the funnier Holiday films that came out of the 80s, and I feel the RiffTrax Crew would definitely do it justice (or injustice, considering your point-of-view).

    MST3K episode 612, The Starfighters, is a favorite of my family and myself - my folks are retired Air Force. So they also know a lot of corny, obscure fighter movies that would be perfect riff material!
