  2. The Dark Secret of Harvest Home (1978)

This is a movie that literally makes you sorta understand The Star Wars Holiday Special - yes, I meant what I said there. The whole movie is on YouTube in parts, but I must warn you it's insane. Let me just list some of the things this film brings to your doorstep:
Double Credits (Credits that roll twice)
    Donald Pleasance books on tape
    Really weird festivals
    A boy named Worthy
    Horrible, vague story
    Rituals in the woods
    Terminator sunglasses
    A creepy future-seeing little girl
    And much more!
It's so ripe for the riffing.

    • A sweatsuit-clad Clark Kent in a gym
    • Nuclear Man's nails!
    • The special effects! :D

  6. "Dark Side of Heaven"

Dark Side of Heaven is just, well, dreadful. Bad sets, bad special effects, bad costumes and the dialogue... There are plays put on by high schoolers that have better production values and acting in them. You know you're in trouble when they've dedicated the film to Stanley Kubrick. Truly awful.

  8. Brain of Blood (1971)

In the early 70's, a knock-off, or something similar was created by Al Adamson (Dracula vs. Frankenstein) and Sam Sherman. Brain Of Blood is considered the black sheep of the Philippine gore series, mainly because Eddie Romero didn't direct, and, well, it was filmed in California, so it's an unofficial addition to the series. But whatever. Close enough. For something so shclocky and inept, we're working with a pretty decent premise, here. About the ruler of a fictional Middle Eastern country (Kaleed), who has recently discovered he is dying of a terminal disease. Amir fears for the future well-being of…

  11. Skeeter (1993)

As the result of a corrupt businessman's illegal toxic waste dumping, a small desert town is beset by a deadly swarm of huge bloodthirsty mutant mosquitoes! This movie also has Tracy Griffith, Melanie Griffith's sister. I have posted a bunch of riffing candidates, but I feel that this movie in particular, is destined for riffing greatness.

  12. Curse of the Faceless Man

Take all of the story elements from the original Mummy, change the location to Pompeii, instead of bandages enclose the guy in stone, created by a volcanic eruption 2000 years ago, a decedent of a woman he loved just happens to live nearby, which not only brings him back to life, but inspires him to see if he can rekindle the old flame once again. The filmmakers, unable to trust the script, acting, or directing incorporate an annoying narrator throughout the film to help you understand exactly what is happening at any given moment.

Some narration of the riffing variety…

  13. American Women - Partners in Research (Short)

    https://archive.org/details/American1960_2

Short film that epitomizes sexist behaviors of the late 50's early 60's. With Chet Huntley (!) of NBC News. Made by a company here in Buffalo, NY. I can see Bridget & Mary Jo sinking their teeth into this one. In the public domain.

  16. Transylvania 6-5000

For your riffing consideration: the movie that actors Jeff Goldbloom, Geena Davis, and Michael Richards, and Jeffrey Jones wished never existed! Plus, it features Ed Begley Jr and Norman Fell!

A largely plotless film involving two reporters looking for a scoop at Castle Frankenstein. Supposedly a comedy... it mostly hurts. Please, please, please riff the hell out of this film!

  17. The Girl, The Gold Watch, and Everything

For your consideration... the very poorly-produced 1980 TV movie version of the quite good John D. MacDonald novel. Hapless protagonist Kirby Winter inherits a watch that can temporarily stop time. More and Mindy's Pam Dawber helps him avoid the evil villains trying to steal the watch. My vote would be to bring this out-of-print tv film back as a Rifftrax dvd release.

    1. It stars Robert Hays... 'nuff said?

    2. It's attempts to translate MacDonald's novel into a RomCom are torturous.

    3. There are ample cringe-worthy moments of 1980 gender comedy.

  18. Honeymoon From Hell (2016)

It's not so much from hell as South Carolina- Another Lifetime movie that would be perfect for Bridget and Mary Jo to take a look at- just not too closely, because the cracks are really obvious-
A young couple on their HONEYMOON (frightened yet?) are staying at a down home B & B- but aside from our main love birds, our cast includes-
Hazel (a bad southern accented Catherine Hicks -7th Heaven, numerous movies), a slow witted handy man, a scheming trampy blonde lady (who only has one bikini) and a bad southern accented normal handyman- but might there be other…

  19. Invisible Agent (1944)

Frank Raymond, grandson of the original Invisible Man, still has the old formula but considers it too dangerous to use, even when Axis agents try to get it. But Pearl Harbor brings him to volunteer his own services as an invisible agent in Germany. Though a bit cold (clothes aren't invisible), his adventures are more comedy than thriller (with occasional grim reminders) as he makes fools of Nazi officials and romances a luscious double agent, in search of Hitler's secret plan... Written by Rod Crawford
Peter Lorre appears in this movie.

  20. the midnight hour

This is a Halloween Made-for-TV movie from 1985 that deserves to be riffed!!!

Teenagers living in a sleepy New England town accidentally raise the dead. Some of them wanna have a good time, others want to kill! Starring LeVar Burton, Dick Van Patten, Peter De Luise and Kurtwood Smith.

This movie is filled with vampires, werewolves, witches (who are also vampires), a zombie little person, zombies who are also vampires, and lots of 80's campiness!
