2036 Origin Unknown
It's a Netflix original that seems like a halfway decent near-future speculative film about the relationships between AI and humans, along with a subplot (or maybe it's the main plot?) about a mysterious metal cube on Mars. There's another subplot that might be the main plot about a government conspiracy involving the secret connection between the cube and the AI, which is so dang clever and original you've probably already guessed what the secret is.
Then, with about 20 minutes to go, WHAM! Now it's a knockoff of 2001: A Space Odyssey with hamfisted rants about how mankind are doomed to annihilate each other.

I forgot about the part where the AI takes control of all of Earth's inexplicably armed satellites and wipes out humanity to stop us from wiping ourselves out.
I blame this error on the fact that by writing the above sentence, I just spent as much time on this plot point as the movie did.
