3. The Being (1983)

   This D-grade horror film stars not one, but THREE Oscar-winning actors (Martin Landau, Dorothy Malone, and Jose Ferrer)! Plus Ruth Buzzi, Kinky Friedman, and Kenny Rogers' ex wife. Yet the lead actor is the talent free Bill Osco, cast because he was the director/producer's husband. Trust me, it's a hoot.

4. The Lonely Lady (1983)

   This awful Harold Robbins penned sexploitation drama stars Pia Zamora. It gets 2.2 stars on IMDB. So very bad. The writing, the acting, everything.

5. Paddy the Pelican Shorts

   Calling these fifties-era, made-for-TV cartoon shorts cheap would be an insult to cheapness.

   Apparently, they're based on a character who started out as a puppet on a Chicago-area kids' show. The black-and-white animation looks like a pencil test. The animation is nothing but endless loops over and over. One single man does every voice in the cartoon, and not only does he sound like he did his voice recording in a broom closet, the quality of his acting in general makes Tommy Wiseau sound like Sir Ian McKellen. The dialogue this "actor" is reading sounds as if he lost the cue cards just before recording started and is frantically ad-libbing to fill the characters' lip movements (you know, that "Speed Racer" style of dialogue). The only music is a few odd organ chords here and there--that, and a theme "song" (and I use the term generously) that is probably supposed to sound like a pelican squawking, but actually sounds like the Joker decided to embark on a singing career--after taking Valium. The backgrounds consist of a few distinguishing features here and there in mostly white space.

   In short, any one of these shorts (most of which can be found on YouTube--I think there were only six) would be perfect for one of the live Rifftrax shows--either before a main feature, or as part of one of the shorts compilation shows.

8. Voyage into Space

   Featuring the adventures of the jet packed, giant robot controlling secret agent latchkey boy Johnny Sokko and his....well giant flying robot as they battle various monsters from the nefarious Emperor Guillotine, a Cthulhu esque alien in a uber flamboyant gold suit and can chuck off his fingernails and cause a nuclear explosion with it. He also as a bunch of Nazi goons at his side called the Garogyle Gang who are lead by dudes like Captain Spider, a discount BBC Nazi, Doctor Botanus, the debut role of that actor who played Destro from the G.I. Joe cartoon and Dangor the Executioner the.....thing I guess

   Based on a manga made by the guy who made Gigantor (No joke! He really did make both of these), Voyage into Space is a heartwarming tale for the whole family with gunfights where children get shot, train eating, Pharaoh headed robot with a shit tone of weapons given to a child by a enslaved scientist, Darn plants and Alien take over plots. It's Ultraman meets Gigantor...or if you were born 1996 onwards, The Iron Giant meets Pacific Rim (you guys have no childhood...even if I was born in the late 90's but who cares)

   Although MGM owns the film, you can get it on FandangoNOW for 2.99 dollars rent so I guess Rifftrax's could sync it to that. It would make me happy to see it riffed because MST3K: The Return didn't unfortunately

11. Otis (Episode One) [Interactive Movie]

    There is an short movie here: https://www.nukhu.com/otis/ but with a twist: there are three character perspectives/narratives and you can switch the perspective of one of three people on the fly with the A, S, and D keys. I think this would make a great experiment for Rifftrax by splitting Mike, Kevin and Bill into the three character perspectives to riff each accordingly, maybe via a plug-in or a deal with the owner of the movie(s) (BTW, I spoke to the director/manager of the movie and he's really keen on the idea of Rifftrax riffing on them).

    The movie is not bad, but it's quite riffable: there are long, empty spaces where there is no dialogue in all three perspectives, and the movie(s) is not a comedy, so I would love to hear Mike, Kevin, and Bill riff each channel apiece and switch channels (and riffing commentary) on the fly!

    I just saw the whole of this 80's cheesefest the other day... great balls of fire! This is awful! It really is the highway to the danger zone! Please do this riff again (or LIVE! - pretty please) and include Kevin.

14. The Kindred (1987)

    This is a rarely seen gooey monster movie of the 80's. It needs to be riffed for 3 reasons.

    1. Rod Steiger's overacting. He outdoes Brando's Dr Moreau.
    2. Amanda Pays transforms into a fish!
    3. There are plenty of lines that make for some slam dunk riffs.
    4. Have I mentioned Rod Steiger's acting???

15. The Keeper of Time

    Filmed in beautiful Lithuania, The Keeper of Time stars Michael O'Hearn, Adam T. Dawson, and Parker Alexander. Like any good movie, The Keeper of Time begins with children being killed by a demon. A good looking female shape-shifting demon, but still a demon. After two children bit the dust, we join the last child on the demon's hit list- little Timmy, the week from 12 year old farm boy. Timmy and his mother return to his home, only to find that a sinister looking women dressed in black has given their father/husband apples to eat. When Timmy states that he is not hungry, his mother replies with, "Timmy, that's not grateful! Say thank you to the good lady," and promptly dies from apple poisoning. Timmy is quickly rescued from the demon by Bullrock, the bad-with-words sword wielding wizard want-to-be shirtless barbarian (played by Micheal O'Hearn, four-times Mr. "Natural" Universe, and gladiator on American Gladiator), and Udo, the magic-less old kung fu instructor who knows the arcane secret of gunpowder. Watch for the sword-fight between Bullrock and a storm.

    "This place is as good as any other place," says Udo, as he sets camp in the middle of a haunted swamp. We find that he may have been mistaken, when swamp zombies rise from the slime to attack Timmy and Friends. Having learned his lesson, the next night Udo has the party camp in the woods, surrounded by mutilated skeletons hanging from the trees. And he did all this AFTER a frantic woman had warned him, "Whatever you do- Don't sleep on the ground!"

    Reasons to be riffed:
    -- Along with countless other shenanigans, there's a flaming truck that just keeps trucking right along (it also flips over, hits who knows how many things, drives through a river...you get the idea).
    -- Characters respond to situations in ways no sensible person would respond (such as continuing to drive a flaming truck, but really, this applies to pretty much everything every character does).
    -- Female lead's behavior/dialogue goes like this:
    Slow down! Can't you go any faster?!
    Hurry and get us out of this! Pull over!
    Don't touch me! Hold me!
    You're so sweet! Men are pigs!
    I want to talk to him! Run the SOB off the road!
    
    -- There's practically nothing about this movie that isn't riff-able. If a non-comedian like myself can come up with a riff for every frame, the RiffTrax crew could create something so glorious a chorus of angels would sing and a herd of unicorns would go prancing along rainbows.
